iPhone vs. Droid

Yes? The new bios's are simple and you literally click one button for my asus MB. You obviously need an aftermarket cooler and mine is liquid cooled. Runs at 4.5 ghz.

they've always been simple but getting the right mix is the hard part. Not to mention all the time spent to make sure it's stable.

if you're that into oc'ing shouldn't you have a droid? Can you oc an iphone?

I don't really see the need to do that to a phone. I don't really use it that heavily to warrant ocing a phone.

And the MB was pretty much designed for those who want to OC ( I think most higher end MBs are that way now) so basically all you need to do is set the desired ghz number and have good cooling system and you're good to go.

Update on iTunes Match.

At home on wi-fi it works great. Its nice to take my phone or iPad from room to room and play music or even while mowing the yard (my wi-fi is pretty strong). However, on 3G it is very choppy unless you are listening to songs you have already streamed before. If you decide to play something random it takes a minute to start playing, which is understandable, but then it will stop about 20 seconds in to buffer, then again a few seconds later. Since I paid for the service to listen mainly in my car this is disappointing. As of now I'm not sure I will renew the service next year.

Just wondering what network you're on & what type of data speeds you get in your area.

I'm on verizon and in the middle of Johnson City. The speedtest.net app clocks my wi-fi at 12mbps and my 3G at .09mbps which is ridiculous for $30/month.

It's a noticable difference from my wi-fi but just browsing it doesn't seem THAT slow. Waiting for video to load is frustrating at times and I usually just wait till I'm on wi-fi. It's really been a non issue fore until this iTunes Match thing.

I won't be eligible for an upgrade until the 5s comes out but hopefully the rumors of LTE are true. It seems unlikely Apple will stick with 3G only since the new iPad is LTE.

If that's your real 3G speed then that's your problem.

I dont think you are getting the real 3G speed, because .09mbps is terrible.

I agree it seems odd. Honestly it does not feel that slow while browsing. When I test my iMac the results for the wi-fi match up with the phone. Maybe I should call Verizon.

Drive about 5 miles away from your house and while on 3G, run the speed test again. If you are still getting that speed, there is something wrong with your phone or service. If you are getting better speed, its possible there is a dead spot where your house is, or there is possibly something in your house distorting your data signal. Either way, there is a problem with .098mbps while on a 3G network

Tested it while driving around and got speeds about the same or worse. Called Verizon and they said to update the network connection which I did. Now it's at .52mbps. Searching online it seems like most people get around 1mbps on 3G so I'm still at half of that.

I'll continue to monitor it over the next few days. I'll test my wife's iPhone too. See what she gets.

Sounds like Verizon is just garbage where you're at.

Testing your wife's phone should indicate if it's crap service in your neck of the woods or you have a possible defective phone antenna or your service needs to be re-provisioned by V.

Probably just a crappy phone.

Of course that was Memphis and on an Android (my bench marks).

The slower downloads are when I am in my work place and it's surrounded by brick and steel.
How's that 4G on your iPho...oh wait.

Oh and it's Verizon, just so you know. Verizon probably has the best services. Even in Johnson City.

Back to the Apple store. The phone just shuts off randomly and won't turn on again unless I plug it into the charger. Nothing but problems with this phone. As much as I like the iPhone, it makes we want to go back to Droid

Are you running the battery all the way down?

verizon had been having slow speeds all day in our area.

we routinely test customers w/ tmobile, sprint, and att 3g. in our rural area our 3g grades faster than tmobile 4g. (which means the tower is faaaar away). wimax isnt available sobwe compare sprint 3g. and att is slower in our area.

ne tennessee is a terrible area for the other carriers. this DEF not the case nationwide if you research att 3g grades higher than Verizons CDMA.

sounds like u need to get a 4g phone :)

we were in knox for some trainin last week and my lte phone pulled routinely 8-9 mps download and 7-8 up.

talk about verizon being garbage, but answr this. where is ma bells next gen cell network?

i understand ive read up on it but they let tmobile sprint and verizon capitalize on 4g and get ahead of em. btw purported 20 mps - 40 mps downloads j. houston is a joke, once all their devices are on the net they will be right where verizon is.

during launch verizons lte was pulling similar #s in atl.

I am own Verizon 4 GLTE

I am not familar with speed test.
I just downloaded sppedtest.net and here is my results, sitting in my home office near the router.

I have charter internet, using one of their installed routers.

On Wifi
Ping 110 ms Download 7.31 Mbps Upload 2.83 Mbps

On Verizon 4GLTE

Ping 178 ms Download 5.46 Mbps Upload 5.10 Mbps

They both seem fast the me with the 4Glte being faster.

Can someone tell me how these stack up?
