How many of you are staying up until 3ET to preorder from Apple? I've decided I'm going to hold out until my contract is up. Don't feel like paying $500 for the 16gb. Gonna get a 32gb in January. My 4S is sufficient enough for now (1st world problem, I know).

I'm just gonna stroll down to AT&T next Friday. I'm using the upgrade from another line & with sim cards being different I would have to go anyway.

Your AT&T must be pretty low key then. Mine will probably be sold out within the first 30 minutes of opening.

We have a few in Spartanburg or I can hit best buy across the street. Worse come to worse I'll go to Apple store in Greenville. If I don't get it first day it's no big deal.

I was tempted to preorder even though I would have to go to AT&T anyway next Friday. I started the process with the line I'm using to upgrade my line. It has the 2GB plan but apparently those aren't grandfathered. Theres a disclaimer where they add you a comparable plan in this case was some sort of 200mb LTE plan. In the disclaimer they say if you have unlimited then a comparable unlimited plan would be added. Anyway I know they have no issue using a line to upgrade another & it will be less hassle just going in next Friday.

I almost pulled the trigger last night but decided not to. And it was showing my unlimited plan at the check out.

Launch day pre orders sold out within the first hour. Now it's 2 weeks. I remember the 4S took all day.

You will be able to keep your unlimited plan for sure. But I think I'm switching to the media share plan (6gb) anyway to avoid throttling.

I had heard that. For us, the unlimited talk/text is better than unlimited Data. I've experienced throttling since my sister (who is on the plan we will be "breaking" from) uses 4 gb + a month....some how.

Your sis probably never has wifi on. I couldn't imagine using that much unless I streamed a lot of Netflix. Most of my data usage is on Wifi.

I rarely even go over 1gb on my current plan. Yes, I know LTE uses up a lot more data but I think it'll still be hard for me to use up all 5gb.

She def. isn't running wifi and she lets her kids play games on her phone all the time.

As far as LTE, how much more data will it use? Hoping the 6 gb will be enough. My daughter and I use around 1.5-2 gb every month mostly and wife hasn't sniffed .5 gb.

Retail stores (non Apple) are receiving very limited quantities to start. Waiting in line anywhere will be pretty much pointless.

well, ordered the 4s, and since I was eligible for an upgrade thorugh work...
It's basically free, work will cover $100, of $108 total...

I just didn't go with the 5, since I didn't want to change charging cables in the car, at home and in the office...

The 4S is a fine device I wouldn't use an upgrade with a newer available though.

For those conspiracy theorists out there, apple has patented a technology that allows mobile phones devices to be disabled according to your location (cameras for example), spy phone 5 is sure to have all sorts of neat goodies in it.

Should I go for AppleCare? They offer 'insurance' for drops ect for 2 years...

Apple care is pretty money. People scoff at extended warranties but after years in electronics retail it's totally worth it for some things, like cell phones, if it covers damage. Apple is great at it too, when my 3g had issues I just brought it in and was out with a new one immediately

Apple is probably the best in the business at customer service & Apple care just adds that much more.
