By the way, I was not eligible for a free upgrade until May. I called AT&T this morning and told them that I was going to cancel my service and switch to Verizon. They waived the $250 fee, so I got the phone for the regular price. LOL

I've had them work with me a few times too. My son's phone crapped out recently & went to the AT&T store to pay full price for a new one (not a smartphone). For some reason it wouldn't go through their system so I called. The guy on the phone got with his manager & they approved an early upgrade & said it would be $99. I only got billed $70 & I think it's eligible for a $50 mail in rebate.

When you get the phone call back & ask them to waive the $38 upgrade fee or use the live chat at AT&T website on your pc.

Most times they will waive it. They give you a sob story about how the fees help counter the subsidized prices etc & then say they will offer it as a one time courtesy or something along those lines.

*its $36 not 38

I've got the 4s still and stuck with it until feb 2014. So iTunes's my next one will be the 6. The 5 looks sweet. I love how the sides are black instead of silver

Do like me. I called up AT&T and told them I was canceling. They waived the early upgrade fee

I'll probably just wait til my contract runs out. I want to change to Verizon or AT&T. I have sprint,they are ok just slow when using Internet. So the free unlimited data deal isn't all that great when its slow

It's usually about an 18 month window to upgrade. A lot of times they will let you upgrade sooner but it's up to them. They usually look at how long you been with them, payment history, etc.

Sprint used to give u the upgrade deal after the first year but when they got the rights to use the iPhone they took it away

This is a little off topic but I gotta say it. I have the iPhone 4S and I have it will me at all times. I just started on this board. I absolutely love ut. Just like all you guys. Anyway I don't really game on my phone. I do browse and what not when I'm bored. I'm a college kid and there is a lot of downtime between class to kill. I absolutely love the vol nation mobile version. It works just like an app. So I can post and read all the new news and posts from my iPhone. Thought I would just praise the iPhone view of VN. Pretty epic!

Your LTE results are certainly impressive. Hope all the networks end up like that in the coming years.

That was one of the better ones but it rarely dips below 30mbps download. Upload stays around 15-20. I've noticed battery life suffering a bit since they activated LTE.

For those tweekers out there an Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 6.1 is supposed to be released today.

I've been holding out updating to 6 because I've gotten so comfortable some of the jailbreak mods. Hope it does come out tonight.
