Opens up iOS for tweaks and such as well as cracked apps. My favorite is a package called Springtomize. It lets you customize your layout like adding extra icons to the dock or allowing more apps in a folder and so forth.

Another good one is called Activator which lets you activate apps by swiping different areas. I toggle my wi-fi and Bluetooth by swiping the status bar left and right. Or activate the camera by swiping up from the bottom right of the screen. Its completely customizable.

There is a lot more you can do but those are two of my favs.

No you can remove it & restore to factory settings if you should ever need to go to apple & have it replaced. My 4S was jailbroken & I had an issue with the lock button. I removed the jailbreak & got a replacement.

I like the weather tweak that allows the weather & temp to be seen in the status bar. I also like Sbsettings which allows wifi & such to be turned on & off by swiping down notifications. BiteSMS is a good messaging app that works with the stock app but allies quick replies & such.

SBsettings is a must. It's what activator accesses for the wifi/Bluetooth toggles.

I like my status bar clean. Just the time, battery, and sugnal strength. I use LockInfo to keep the weather on the lock screen.

Is the jail break complex of will it do it on its own? Is it plug and play?

Yes. Very simple. Download the software, plug in your phone and press "jaibreak".

Just make sure iTunes is closed first.

Ok. And this will work on the 4g too or is it strictly for the 5?

My software is the updated one that came out couple days ago

I haven't been able to get anything yet.

I did a fresh restore since I was upgrading from 5.1. Plus I had all this "other" data I needed to purge anyway.

You're doing something very wrong then. Once it's downloaded just double click it. It may say extract to wherever. If it does the easiest thing is extract to the desktop. Double click the folder & it will have the actual program to run, the read.me, & something else. The read.me will tell you everything you need to do but it's so easy you don't really need to read it. Make sure iTunes is closed & phone is plugged in. Double click the actual program & it will start running. Then you click jailbreak. About halfway through the process it will tell you to unlock phone & tap the icon it installed. It will then finish doing what it has to do.
