iPhone

I've restored my phone and ipad from a back ups a few times and it has brought everything back as if I never did the restore.

However, you should always up load your pictures to your computer every now and then anyway.

Another suggestion is using Dropbox. Are you familiar with that? The app will automatically upload your pics if you allow it to.

It's free and simple to use. You get get 2 GBs of storage free and can accumulate more free space doing various things (or buy more but I've got up to 7GBs free so far). Install it on your computer and it will sync your files automatically (faster on Wifi of course). I highly recommend it.

I think the app will prompt you to upload your pictures when you first use it. (I think they even give you some extra free space for doing so).

Exactly. I bid on a brand new iPhone 5 on eBay so I guess I'll see how that goes. It did say they took the SIM card out of it so how do I get a new one?

You can cut the one you have or if Verizon is like AT&T just go in & they'll set you up with one for free. Make sure it's a corporate store & not a franchise/authorized retailer type places.

Actually I just looked at my bill history and the closest we've ever come to our 8gb is 6. I think I might just pay the $199 to upgrade.

As a fellow Verizon customer I've been leery to upgrade because of losing my unlimited data. But I am curious if using my wifi will go against the data package ill get if I upgrade

Of course not. If you're around wifi most of the time not much to lose. Unlimited data is peace of mind though.

Do you know how much data you use currently?

I only use about 1GB of cell data but I'm around wifi the majority of the day. Most of my cell data is used streaming music while driving.

I use about 2gb a month and wife uses about half a gb a month. I use mine much like you. I listen to my favorite morning radio show (Walt & Johnson) streaming through my stereo in my car and work truck. Then after that I usally listen to tsr via their app.

The large majority of smartphone users do about 1-2GB a month.

There are still a few backdoor ways to keep unlimited data on Verizon, but given that the vast majority of people don't actually need it, and data overages are really not that expensive ($15/GB), it's not really that big of a deal.

True. We have 4 people on a shared plan with 8 gb of data to use and we average 6 gb a month, and that was before we started using wifi more.

Pretty good battery life

I think screen on time is a better indicator, like Android measures it. "Usage" can include paying music with the screen off, which can distort the numbers.

Anyone ever been on T-Mobile? They just announced no contracts and they are going to carry the iPhone with a $99 deposit (then $20/month for 24 months). Plans are cheaper overall and drop aignificabtly once you pay off the device. Just wondering how reliable the network is.
