iPhone

It's a second gen. I believe. Don't have a Mac. My iPhone and iPad are company issue. 😃

You can still jailbreak either & take it off if you have to. Thinking of upgrading to iOS 7 & redoing jailbreak,....bla. Anyway just picked up Apple TV & was able to dodge an extended warranty & a dish network pitch in less than 10 minutes.

Got it home & set up. Set up all the apps I use or might use. The only one that was weird was the hboGO app. It supports charter on my phone but not Apple TV yet I can just use the app to airplay. Oh well seems like a good investment.

The ios app lets you mutitask once the video is streaming via airplay too. Not all apps do that.

If your mac is late 2011 or newer runing Mavricks you can Mirror or dual screen your desktop via airplay. So anytging you want to run on your Mac will be up on your TV.

Comes in especially handy for blacked out games on watchESPN. Just use Hotspot Shield on your Mac then goto watchESPN in your web browser.

I would do that if I could trust my Mac long enough to stream the video. Actually it is an earlier 2011 model so I might not be able to.

I suppose my 4 GB of RAM isn't enough for the MBPro but it is constantly grinding and non responsive. There is typically 2 GB of inactive RAM, 1.8 GB used, and 200 MB of free RAM. Restarting temporarily solves but that's a long process every time it want to use safari.

So is this movie box supposed to stream. It just loads forever. Downloading, which I don't want to do anyway, take hours... this is on wi-fi.

I hit "Watch now" and stream from iphone to ATV. Have watched 3 movies, always at the best quality available. It buffers for a minute or so, then plays without any issues. It is not being saved on my phone.

Was going to watch Ride Along last night, but think I'll wait until it's on without the Chinese subtitles. :)

Have you tried MemoryKeeper or any other memory app? MK can run in the background and automatically free up memory. I only have 4gb on my MBA and haven't had any issues.

I don't. I'll look into it because it's ridiculous. My wife won't even touch the computer because of it.

I think my computer missed the airplay ability. Either late 2010 or early 2011. I did put on Air parrot on there so can talk to the AppleTV, so maybe can see if that works with an xbmc set up.

I just used Movie Box on my iPad to stream TWD at the highest res (airplay to ATV). It worked great but had to buffer for a min or two with less than 10 to go.

I downloaded Wolf of Wallstreet yesterday. Plan to watch it tonight or tomorrow then I'll delete it.

Mine has been streaming pretty flawless lately but when I first tried to use it it would buffer a good bit. That led me to think that downloading would be a better option & watching then deleting but it takes forever to download.

Yeah it took a long time. I started it around 2 yeasterday afternoon. Around 6 it was only at 30%. I just happened to look this morning and noticed it was done.

Sometimes it will just stop in the middle of a download & you have to manually resume download. Sometimes when you go to resume it will say movie not available (which it is) & you have to start from scratch. Obviously it's on the server end but I'm not complaining for what it is.
