I think it's more of war against some extremists, who overall give the religion some bad pub. Although it does say in the book if you are not of Islam, you must conform to it or be killed or something to that effect, doesn't paint a rosy picture.

All i know is i have plenty of guns, come try that.

If you're atheist, why even worry about some silly burial right before dumping the guy off? It's not like he'll magically spring back to life and hatch more plots.

There's nothing reasonable behind desecration of a corpse other than pettiness. He's already dead and saying there is anything else to it is sinking to the level of Islamic extremists who would do the same, and there is no basis to say otherwise.

Why would skipping the funeral and rituals be desecration? (Unless I missed some posted earlier)

I assume we went that route for the PR points with the muslim community. If he is disregarded by them as it pertains to their belief system (along with our leaders) are we not disgracing their faith by treating his dead body as one of theirs?

Would you be irritated if Timothy mcveigh (or whoever was brought up earlier) received a similar burial to you, or would it not be a big deal cause dude is dead?

I'm not saying you can or can't call it desecration, what I'm saying is youve got a group of people who would be pissed if he didn't get full burial rites, and another group of people who wouldnt care if he did.

So you agree that someone could get pissed about it either way. Do you think the terrorists will get pissed? Or your average muslim?

My point was we are are placing the muslim tag on him by doing this, so if Im muslim, I might be offended if I don't agree with his actions in the name of what I believe. If Im not, I don't care (which is my stance). Is this not the group we are trying not to offend?
