The Simple Answer:
CAT-5 is rated to 100M
CAT-5e is rated to 350M
CAT-6 and CAT6e is rated to 550M or 1000M depending on your source
CAT-7 is supposedly rated to 700M or presumably 1000M
But of course you will only get the speed the slowest part of your network will handle. If you don't have a network of all gigabit equipment, you won't get the benefits of any of it.

As for the orange screens, I have isues at work most all the time. I blame IE6. At home I use IE7 and have almost no problems on the site.

I'm having this same problem today just a couple of times but there was about a seven second delay.

Also, I don't see the links to the forums at the top on the new skin. If you didn't want to include it, thats fine. But didn't know if you forgot.


Edit: Nevermind. I see it at the bottom.

That brings up a good point. Anyone having issues please post the version of IE that you are using. You can find it by going to 'Help' and clicking on 'About Internet Explorer' in IE. Please post the full version number.

Firefox 2.0.0.14 here and I haven't really had any problems. I did notice a slowdown early in the morning's, but I expected it was the back-up (as you already explained). I haven't gotten stuck on any orange page or anything like that, however.

I'm using 2k7.1, btw.

Those using firefox don't seem to be experiencing any issues from what I can tell except during the 4-5am backup. Thanks for your feedback.

I checked out the mobile skin and now I can't figure a way to change back. I don't see that option of skins on mobile mode. This sucks.

Its doing that slow-load thing again this morning, freak. Pretty bad. Sometimes blank orange screen for 20-30 seconds.

lg can tou see if the 2k8 skin makes any difference.

freak, I log on here from 3 different computers/locations etc and use Firefox on 2, IE on the other and its the same for me on all. The main page goes all orange and takes forever to load up, forever meaning like old dial up speed. Pretty much just slow load times and its on 3 different IPs so cant be that.

I get this on every link/post i click on for about 10-15 seconds.

all porn sites blacked out :whistling:

Can you try selecting the 2k8-1 skin from the dropdown list in the bottom right hand corner of the page and see if that makes a difference?

Same thing, it just has a brown screen instead and says Waiting for ..pagead2.googlesyndication.com and hangs there for about 10 seconds or so.

Freak, I hit quote on this and it took over ten seconds to come up. Blank orange in the meantime.

And to respond to your query, I am already on that selection for "quick style chooser."

I'll keep trying to figure this out. I'm not experiencing this on my end and it doesn't seem like everyone is having this problem. I'll keep trying to put my finger on what could be causing it.

Well, one thing to keep in mind is that it is not consistent. Sometimes it does it, sometimes not.
