I wish people wouldn't get excited about things that aren't gonna happen.

I wouldnt count it out just yet. Me nor anyone else knows how this will play out, but everyday there is something new that develops. And If this big Yahoo story that is going to break soon is on Alabama then its game over. When they break these kind of stories it never turns out well for the team its about. And with these allegations and what Yahoo has dug up,if it is on Alabama, then it will be a long way back for the Bammers. Auburn is already about to get nailed and Bama getting it will be icing on the cake. Cant wait to see what develops over the next few weeks.Loved Clay's newest developments today.
Did I miss something? Did they clear OSU? Last I heard it was getting bad up there. Theres no way trent didnt know and didnt receive some type of compensation. Hopefully they are next. This palce has a history of doing this, definately not just Trent.
As bad as things were from the mid-90s to the early 00s, Alabama's compliance department has been much improved. They dealt with the textbook situation appropriately, they were all over the fishing trip and the Dareus party in Miami. During all of that, they never once came out and said "we don't see any violation." They have in this case. I'm really not worried.
If the Yahoo story turns out to be about us, then all bets are off. But the Yahoo story isn't going to be about this men's clothing store.
I do have one more question and it was asked on Bham sports radio, not sure if you listen or not but Tony Curry had brought it up. If this guy had done nothing wrong and alabama felt there was nothing to this, then my this disassociate this man from the program? he brought they never to that unless there was some wrong doing, history shows that. And it cant be they were just being cautious, because those A-holes that run that university are the most arrogant SOB's on the face of this earth and something made them do this,Right? I mean I wasnt at the Suit store so i dont know but there is just so much that makes zero sense. Wy have players since '95 been in and out of that place and been seen hanging out regularly. Why is trent out to dinner with a bunch of older white people? Why when this came out did the owner of the suit store pull all the items he had for sale off the internet? He is obviously as booster so why disassociate him from UAT if he and them have done nothing wrong? I am trying to be serious and doubt i will get anything but a defensive answer and we are innocent response from a Bam but there is just alot of stuff that makes zero sense and definately makes them look atleast sneaky. Not to mention that letter was supposedly sent hours after the Ohio ST stuff went down. And why wait till march 31st while your hoops team is in NY to disassociate this guy if nothing was wrong. Guess I am just wanting all this to be true, especially listenening to Bama people talk smack on sportstalk here about how crooked Auburn is(which i do agree with), and how squeeky clean the school in Tuscalooser is. But just alot of stuff doesnt add up. And if this was Auburn,UT or LSU bama people would be screaming up and down they were guilty and about to get nailed. But since its UAT theres nothing to it and AU is setting them up trying to get the heat off of them. Gotta love College Football in the South..
jason,
The disassociation is a clear cut case of CYA on the part of Bama's AD. Anyone who says otherwise is full of it. But disassociation doesn't mean that a violation was committed. Bama sent the C&D letter in December. By the end of March it was obvious that the store owner wasn't planning on complying. The disassociation was Bama's way of saying "We have nothing to do with this guy. We can't control what he does." GT disassociated a booster during their recent brush with the NCAA, and that booster wasn't even named in the allegations. Sometimes you just have to CYA.
the question is really about what instigated the dissociation. Most often, things like this happen when it's apparent that the light of day is coming rather than it was incidentally found out in the AD and summarily canned.
Save your breath bro! You're trying to convince bammers. You could have video proof of those white folk handing Richardson a hand full of hundred dollar bills and they would still deny it.

But they do have stuff to do with him.there are pictures of him with Terry Saban on the sideline and him with sideline passes to games. so yes they absolutely have had a relationship with him since '95. They would never have done it if this stuff hadnt come out. Its been going on for 15+ years and is just now being stopped? Cmon man.
Definately a long, long way to go on this. Just the beginning. Cant wait to see what develops next. And damn Yahoo needs to get in gear and drop their story. what are they waiting on? Unless they are waiting till closer to kickoff, and if so..:clapping:
Alabama disassociated him almost 4 months before "this stuff came out." They were proactive. They might have been motivated by the OSU mess, but they didn't wait until the spotlight was on Bama.
Regardless of his connections to the program, this guy obviously was not influenced by the C&D letter. Bama's AD had no choice but to say "If you won't listen to us, you can't be around us."
Just the tip of the iceberg! Ohio St started out with 5 suspended players and ended up with a lot more than just trading stuff for tatts. And who would have thought in the beginning that Tressel knew everything and covered it up. It's never as small as it seems, this Alabuma thing will get worse!

It just now came out in the media, but has been going on for 15+ years. If the Ohio ST stuff never happens I doubt he receives the letter or gets disassociated. Its not like the guy just started this and you cant tell me the players especially the more recent ones didnt know their stuff was being sold. Esp since its been up for sale on one of his websites and i would bet he didnt just start selling these things. You dont spend days and numerous hours hanging out there and signing autographs because you have nothing else to do. To me the suits arent even the issue. Its what did he give them for their autographed stuff? Doubt it was just suits. Did he give them a flat fee for everything signed or did he give them portions of each thing that was sold? You cannot make anyone believe the players didnt know their stuff was going to get sold and that they didnt receive anything. I mean maybe they just like hanging out with older white people and grabbing some hibachi and sushi.
