Is Butch Jones General Neyland part 2?

Butch snags a few four and five star recruits and we're ready to anoint him as the 2nd coming of General Neyland. This is what you call a desperate fanbase...

Hows about we reserve judgement until after he wins a few games and manages to keep those recruits on board during the season...

Hows about is right

Like most fans I'm optimistic about CBJ chances of becoming successful head coach at UT. Comparing him to legendary coaches is pointless now since he hasn't coached one game yet at UT. But most accounts I'm hearing about him are players buying in and they feel the coach pushes them but CBJ has their back. That was a critical mistake Dooley made with several sarcastic quips about his players to the media. Butch also has been media friendly (Dooley was hit and miss) and that creates a positive public relations image. His recruiting class was solid (#20 Rivals) but by no means spectacular or that would help change the balance of power in the east. This year he has a head start and the class is looking very promising indeed. A top 10 finish could help tilt the balance of power back to UT. Think the team overall will play better even though they much less fire power on offense. If CBJ could finish 7-5 and win a bowl game that will improve recruiting with many more blue chip players seeing UT winning a SEC title more likely in the next 3-4 years. At least finish 6-6 and a bowl win hope could be somewhat restored to a struggling program.

Who knows, coach Jones could be Bill Battle part 2. We'll just have to wait and see. After the terrible decisions made by this university, let's hope we got it right this time around.
