Is Cam Newton better than Tim Tebow?

Who's the better QB?

They would have been better no doubt, but Auburn had pieces in place like Dyer, Fanin, and several talented receivers around Newton that MSU don't have.

Why does everybody forget the OLine? I was amazed at how well Newton was protected several times this year, most recently against SC, and it seemed like whenever he tucked it to run, there was space everywhere.

All those numbers are nice. Especially the part about Barry leading Ok St to the Holiday Bowl. But he still didn't have the impact that Newton had.

Newton would've been the Auburn starter last year. Sanders wasn't riding the pine because he was in JC. He was sitting behind Thomas.

Ok St also had Dykes taken in the first round that year. How many first round picks would Auburn have on offense this year besides Newton?

Sanders played in a different era prior to the BCS and before the bowl system was watered down. Who knows if Auburn would be playing for a National title this year in the old system beings Oregon would be playing Ohio State in the Rose and Auburn would be playing a lesser opponent in the Sugar. Oregon would more than likely jump Auburn in the old system if they beat Wisconsin in a Rose bowl matchup where Auburn beat up on a lesser opponent in the Sugar bowl.

Newton would have been on the pine behind Tebow last year if he had stayed there for the same reason Sanders was on the pine behind Thomas. It doesn't mean Cam was worse than Tebow or Sanders was worse than Thomas. That washes that theory out.

Auburn key contributors on offense other than Cam will not be in the draft due to being younger players. Dyer, McCalebb, and Adams have all put up significant numbers comparable or better as a combination than Dykes at OKST. On top of that, Auburn will have Nick Fairley drafted ahead of Cam from the defensive side which has helped Auburn's offense get more opportunities.
