Is the best of Bruce yet to come?

1.) Bruce Pearl is NOT an elite coach...yet.

2.) CLK left for a better job. I bet you the same people who are complaining that he is classless are the same people who praised him and got excited over his comments last offseason.

So, he knew the questions... OK? That has no bearing on Shelley Smith asking him about his time at UT and the way he left. Get a clue.

Uhm, he could've easily declined to comment, or refused to take the questions on camera. But that is something I would expect from someone of character.

Becoming more and more clear why you favor CLK over CDD.
In 3 years, one coach will be trying to win a national title while the other will have be trying to end a 5 game losing streak to the school's biggest rival and a 7 game winning streak to the school's second biggest rival.

If Lane Kiffin attempted to help the NCAA in investigating UT, would that drastically change your opinion of him? Honest question.
Absolutely. The NCAA is only slightly more deserving of existing than al Qeada.

Now tell me about all the success as a head coach Lane Kiffin has had.
The fact that about 3 months ago, about 95% of the fan base was expecting to be competing for the SEC title in about 2 years should indicate what people thought about Kiffin's coaching ability.

Ok. It sure is easy for all of you to predict the future on the internet. You should go on the Montell Williams Show and take questions from the audience.

When the season ends this year, he'll be the only coach to lead Tennessee to a bowl game in the last three seasons. Also, I'm pretty sure Kiffin doesn't have losses to Utah State and Idaho on his dossier.

Thought.

Key word.

What you thought would happen and what did happen are two very different things. Joke is on you, I guess.

lol, you're calling going to a bowl game successful
:eek:lol:

Maybe you are a Vandy fan.

Again, he was honest. If that honesty ruffled your hillbilly feathers, then so be it. Why would he decline saying that stuff? Our fans acted like ignorant hilljacks with the death threats and burning crap.

Well would it really surprise you if he did help them if he had the opportunity? Kiffin doesn't really strike me as a snitch, but I could see him helping the NCAA for no other reason than that he would get a laugh out of it.

Because there is no point? He moved on right? He is in a MUCH BETTER PLACE, right? Why does he need to talk about the past?

I'm tired of hearing that we don't know how Dooley will do. We may not know for sure, but if Alabama hired Dooley, we'd have already started celebrating. Dooley was unknown before this. There was a reason he was considered after that fraud at Texas, a coach who's already failed in the SEC, and the Air Force coach.

Students being students, IMO. With the exception of one old dude trying to "rally" the troops. I hope you arent too embarassed to wear your UT gear in public because this happened.

What did happen was Kiffin took a bad team and made them competitive. He was never going to field a team that bad again.

+1... we shoulda done one last Vol Walk for him and thanked him for gracing us with his presence here at Tennessee...

It was his first year and he took a piss poor offense and improved it drastically in every aspect, especially the Points per game and total yards statistics. I would say he did a pretty damn good job with what he had. Stick to the basketball forum.

Gah, you're hopeless. Kiffin doesn't care to answer or not answer. ESPN asked those questions b/c they knew it would be good for SportsCenter. If he doesn't care, why would he say, "No, no, no... I won't talk about UT."? .... What difference does it make to him? It's more face time, and it let him tell his side of the story.

But taking Tennessee Basketball program to 4 straight tourneys, filling TBA, two sweet sixteens, numerous victories over #1s isn't successful at all. :eek:lol:

I'm really not at all embarrassed about the reaction. I've seen West Virginia and Ohio State have similar reactions after wins. I'm pretty sure Tennessee didn't act any differently than most other major football programs would have in that situation.

And as far as death threats go, I can think of multiple situations where college players have gotten death threats. I'm not sure how this is worse. Our reaction wasn't pretty, but it wasn't something that wouldn't happen at other schools.

Wait.....I thought all that was failure and the most successful thing he had done was with the SEC?
