Is the best of Bruce yet to come?

But taking Tennessee Basketball program to 4 straight tourneys, filling TBA, two sweet sixteens, numerous victories over #1s isn't successful at all. :eek:lol:

Filling TBA means what exactly? How do we do in the postseason? This is Pearl's 5th year and seems to plateau every year at about this point as opposed to it being Kiffin's first year.

Because there is no point? He moved on right? He is in a MUCH BETTER PLACE, right? Why does he need to talk about the past?

Because he's being disparaged for what he views as a step up to his dream gig. He's defending himself and it's not in his nature to back down, but you clearly knew that. I say that, becase I saw the genius in your cparison of Dooley and Kiffin as prospective coaches. Kiffin comes with Orgeron and Monte while Dooley comes with Wac bonafides and tales of Saban's coattails.

What did happen was Kiffin took a bad team and made them competitive. He was never going to field a team that bad again.

I'm tired of hearing that we don't know how Dooley will do. We may not know for sure, but if Alabama hired Dooley, we'd have already started celebrating. Dooley was unknown before this. There was a reason he was considered after that fraud at Texas, a coach who's already failed in the SEC, and the Air Force coach.

That's pretty much the scenario in two quick quotes.

Those Ws are the pinnacle of success. It's why we have trophies for them. First thing asked about Pitino's career will be about his upsets while at PC.

Obviously he cared.

He didn't care to bash UT. He cares about face time. I really doubt Kiffin even cares what questions are asked as long as he is in front of a camera. Look, if you're wife was getting death threats and having morons post her cell #, then I would bet you would go out of your way to bash that school's fans. Kiffin talked about it in an interview for ESPN when HE WAS ASKED those questions. He didn't hold a separate press conference to do that.

Montes defense was stellar last year.

Yeah, he coached for team north of .500 in the SEC. Not like he was dealig with the challenge of being in his third year in the WAC or anything like that. Now that's some daunting stuff. Breaking .500 is virtually impossible IMO.

How many excuses does the Kiffin family get?

They require as many as Dooley, for damn certain and with all the crap you've laid out justifying regular season wins and poo-pooing an elite eight appearance, I'd assume you view needing rationalization as having merit.

I gave no excuse, just an evaluation. That was a good defense, and given the material available to make it, I'd rate Monte's job performance as "very good."

It was a good defense? I must have watched a different defense than you. The offense was better than the defense last year, if that tells you anything about the great Monte.

I'd love to take a poll of college/pro football coaches and ask them to rate Monte on a scale of 1-10 and then have a poll of basketball coaches do the same for Pearl and see the results.

How many passes are you going to keep giving Bruce? What about the USC and Georgia losses? Getting pounded by Vandy twice? They were just the perfect storm, right? Yeah he has some good wins but some very, very bad losses.

Pitino coached in one of those silly Final Fours at Providence. Pearl can't be bothered with coaching that weekend. He's always too busy seeing how far up Jim Nantz's rectum he can stick his head.

How does this approach mesh with your senseless support for Dooley after his abortion of a season at La Tech?
