The Palestinians didn't have a "state" prior to the six day war and if teh Arabs would have been successful they still wouldn't have their own state.

So what? Israel didn’t have a state until 20 yrs before that...

Lots of Arabs have their own state...why not Palestinians?

It's not a might equals right situation. Israel was was the victim of an unprovoked attack by her neighbors not once but twice. The aggressors lost and forfeited land as a result of their aggression.

If the surrounding Arab states would have recognized UN Resolution 181 and not invaded Israel in 1948 the Palasitians would have had their own state.

I'm not sure why you are responding to me then when I am addressing a poster who is using might equals right as justification if you do not feel it is applicable.

So, Israel holds Palestinians hostage because of what their neighbor Arab states did in 1948?

And the fact is...Israel was the attacker to start the 6 day war..

I'm less interested in the history of how we got to the place we are than I am the path to a practical and lasting peace moving forward.

Yeah. Had they lost that war in 72 or whenever I wouldn't be arguing for an Israel. Stop funding them, get them out of politics and let the dice roll.

I don’t think it possible to move forward and ignore the long history of this feud...at the same time...

Peace is only possible when Palestinians have their own state, their own rights and their own right to exist how they see fit...
