Islamic Billboards in Minneapolis

The Catholic religion does not teach molesting little boys, like Islam teaches them to kill those who don't believe as they do.

See how I did that?

It still doesn't change the ridiculousness of your comparison.

I could have just as easily said the KKK were all Christians, dark skin was a curse in the Bible....therefor all Christians are racists like the KKK. All southerners supporting slavery were Christian, slavery is condoned in the Bible, therefore Christians condone slavery.

I could go on....

Of course Islam teaches some violent and ridiculous things, just like every other religion.

Your "the Christians done it too" arguement has already been played. I am not concerned about what happened thousands of years ago, I am concerned with how an evil religion wants this country to not exist anymore and us all to be killed.

Bull.

Whats is different in the Bible or the core teachings of Christianity in the middle ages versus now? Not a single thing. Society changed, not the theology.

The exact same principle holds true with Islam today. Living in a civilized society would do just as much as anything else in moderating Islam. The Qu'ran and Bible (especially the OT) could go murder for murder if interpreted in the right context.

How dare you use the " Christians did it too" argument. It's Ok based on what time in history it happened so long as it is not the present. :ermm:

Here we go... I wonder how many people in this thread have actually spent any time with Muslims?

I have.

I took my original language apptitude test in Arabic.

obviously the answer is none. If they had they would be dead.

Could you pass the Grey Poupon?

Priests molest little boys, its been in the news. That tells me all I need to know about Catholics. They are all child molesters.

See how I did that?

Those who attempt to class Christianity and islam in the same pigeonhole because they can both conviently be called religions, do themselves and others a disservice and display an appalling level of ignorance.

Why don't you 2 give me an example of when the last time a Christian killed people in the name of Christianity? If this did happen lately you all would be screaming from the mountain top, but since its Islam you all tend to just dismiss it as a couple of fringe radicals. This just shows how many of you are ignorant on the faith that is Islam.

This says nothing about the benign efficacy of Christianity over Islam and more about the progress of western civilization over the near far east.

I'll do that as soon as you provide proof that ALL muslims are about killing Americans. Before you start throwing the word 'ignorant' around you might want to check what this thread was all about in the first place. This is not about defending Islam or terrorism, of course none of us do. This thread is a discussion of weather or not ALL, keyword again is ALL muslims and Islam is evil.

Also, why would I be "screaming from the mountain top?" I am not atheist, I am a Christian but happen to have some tolerance of peaceful people that see the world differently.

Seriously??? :eek:hmy: I suppose you're giving no credit nor consideration to the New Testament? If anything, I would think Christianity is in many ways attributable to the progress of western civilization, whether you would choose to admit it or not.

No I don't. St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Augustine endorsed the wholesale torture and murder of heretics. Am I to assume they hadn't read the New Testament, or weren't familiar with the teachings of Jesus?

The OT hasn't changed. The NT hasn't changed. Society has. Plain and simple.

OBVIOUSLY islam hasn't changed one iota.

BTW FYI the history of Roman Catholicism doesn't give the total picture of the history of Christianity, RC is only one sect.

Did I say all? I don't think so. But all good muslims are or support terror. And the few bad muslims that do not support it don't do much if anything to stop or denounce it. Its sort of hard to tell the 2 apart. True Islam is evil and wants Christians dead.

Did you have any comment to my reply to you in post #105??

Not trying to be pushy, just thought you may have missed that.

BTW, I didn't interpret this to be a discussion of whether or not all muslims and islam is evil but rather whether the promotion of islam in America should be tolerated when we have no quid pro quo in countries where islamic sharia law is dominant. (BTW our young people are fighting and dying in a country that holds islamic sharia law to be their constitutional law, ie; Afghanistan.)

If your interpretation is correct then I would say that indeed islam IS evil and whether or not each muslim is evil or not, thay all more or less adhere to that evil doctrine.

What good is freedom in America or fighting for freedom when we start deciding who can or cannot practice certain religions here?

I saw post # 105 and again, I am not defending Islam or any terrorism. I am simply defending their right to put up a billboard as long as they are peaceful and follow the law. They have that freedom here and I understand that Christians are not tolerated in parts of the middle east but that just proves to me how great our country really is. The terrorist would love for us to ban Islam here. They would love to see America lose some freedom and to create an all out religious war. They hate the fact that we are so tolerant of all people here.

:peace2:

I have no problem with letting people practice their religion or no religion at all. But when you religion teaches and promotes hate and violence I don't think that should be tolerated. There are known terrorists training camps within our borders but we can't stop them because they are protected under freedom of religion.

Wrong, wrong, and wrong some more.

Although I disagree with some of what he has said there are training camps here in America that are very likely used as training facilities, I have heard of one in TN.

There is one is Middle Tennessee, I can't remember exactly where, Gallatin I think it is, but not 100% sure. If the FBI would try to raid them they would sue under freedom of religion I can almost guarantee it. The ACLU would be there in 5 minutes to back them.

1) There is just as much "God sanctioned" violence and murder in the Bible as there is Allah sanctioned in the Quoran.

2) If there is an actual terrorist training camp in the U.S. and we know about it, the notion that the intelligence agencies would look the other way because of fears over political correctness is absurd. I realize that does not jibe with your Obama is a Secret Agent Muslim man nonsense, but you have ZERO evidence that the U.S. is tolerating people training to commit such acts.

3) The sad irony is that the much larger peace-loving Muslim community is reaching out to Christians in the U.S. to dispel so many of these prejudices and they are greeted by allegedly patriotic people who say they don't even want them to be allowed to speak, which is somewhat of a problem in light of that pesky First Amendment. In fact, it amuses me to no end that religious or political conservatives often wrap themselves in the American flag or Constitution or plain old "Americanism" and then want to intimidate or outright legislate away the other side's right to be heard. Amazing.

I will not say that they are training there fore sure. They are huge pieces of property and the suspicion is they are very likely a sleeper cell or training for a possible attack in the future. Without any evidence they can do nothing. I can assure you that they are investigating them and watching them closely though.

It has nothing to do with Obama, these "camps" have been there before Obama became the front runner for president.

I am sure that they are being monitored and if there were any evidence of anything like actual plans to commit any sort of terrorist act, all of the attendees would quickly find themselves on the business end of a set of handcuffs.

Prior to 9/11 it seems like there was some passiveness in our approach to such things. No way any government official is going to let something like that go on his watch because it'd be his skin if it went south.
