Israel vs Palestinians

If Americans were in the Palestinian situation, we would be locking horns with the bull, too.

What? Think about the absurdity of your post.

Americans were in the Palestinian position from 1775-1783. The difference is our leaders didn't flee to safety while their people were fighting, they invested their own treasure into defeating the bull instead of robbing their people, they used what foreign aid that was sent to help their people instead of stuffing it in their pockets. Also instead of hiding behind their women and children they faced the biggest bull on earth on the battlefield.

IDF soldiers killed dozens of Palestinian children per year leading up to October 2023. We can start there.

Do you think that if we were in the Palestinian situation we would be thinking about relative oppression? Gimme a fkn break.

Assuming that's true, how many of those killings the result of the Israelis shooting first?

As to your second question: I'm sure the Palestinians do not consider "relative oppression." But they are as restricted by Egypt as much as they are restricted by Israel. Prior to 10/7/24, even more so.

Since we're talking hypotheticals: do you think that Egypt would act differently than the IDF if Hamas were constantly launching rockets at their citizens?

I’d hope we’d be locking horns with the people who steal our food, take infants hostage, and who brought this fate onto us.

This is the weirdest part of your argument. You’ll constantly claim we are “creating terrorist” and talk about “blow back”….

And then you’ll simultaneously defend them for not standing up to Hamas.

How does that work exactly? How do Israel’s actions towards Palestinians create violence from Palestinians, but Hamas’ actions do not?

At least you’re self aware.
Maybe one day you’ll realize they’re not a country, by their own choice, and they want this destruction that they brought upon themselves
Sure, they brought it upon themselves, uh huh. By being where your favorite country wanted to set up shop and wants to expand. You're ridiculous. Anything to avoid taking responsibility for those many, frequent, and serious atrocities.

FYM “assuming that’s true?” Do you have any reason to suspect it isn’t or to imply that the Palestinian kids being murdered for decades brought it upon themselves?

I don't really trust numbers from either side of a conflict like this. You'll have to forgive me if I come off as incredulous.

Actually, we weren't really in the same situation. It's quite a bit different. For example, other powers were helping us instead of helping the more powerful oppressors. We also had an ocean between us and the war was fought with weapons from 200 years ago.

But I don't understand why you think my post is absurd? I said, "if we were in their position, we would be locking horns with the bull too" and you more or less said, "we were in that position and we locked horns." LOL

Yes we locked horns but the leadership and populace situation was night and day different. If what you say is true and the average Palestinian in Gaza is an innocent non-combatant it wouldn't be the people "locking horns" with the bull it would just be active Hamas members and the people wouldn't be sheltering, aiding and supporting them.

I’m sure we’ve never seen Palestinians send their children out to antagonize/attack IDF soldiers, then stand back and record the incident with the actual hope that IDF retaliates on the child that has been sent out as bait…

Israel killed over 2,000 Palestinian kids under 17 from 2000 to January 2022, making up a human shield narrative for every civilian Israel kills is stupid and exhausting

Per your link there has been 2387 minors killed by IDF forces between Sept 2000 and April 2024. So they average (if the stats are correct) about 100 minors killed per year, in the US the police have averaged killing about 25 per year. It's pretty amazing it's so low over there considering how many times over the last 24 years it has been an active war zone.

The U.S. has more than 65x as many people, meaning Israel’s child kill rate with our population would be 6500 children killed a year compared to our 25, or 162,500 over a 25-year span compared to our 625. But yes “pretty amazing it’s so low over there” lol

That only 2400 minors were killed (and given that Palestinian figures don't distinguish combatants, thus a 17 year old with an AK counts the same as an infant in his mother's arms) over the course of 24 years, most of which have been spent during open hostilities, is actually quite amazing.

Oh noes…. Did we just scale an Israel-Palestinian death total to the US population 😱

I’m sure not all of the Palestinian children killed were sent out as bait to the IDF.
How many were suicide bombers that were credited as IDF kills. We are talking about the same people that said the IDF gunned down 5 children simply trying to get back to their homes. Turns out it was 5 20-25 year old men armed with AKs and not from that area.

There are no accurate numbers from that conflict

The Israelis suck at conducting a genocide.

Sure did in response to an over-the-top apples-to-oranges comparison, and on top of that I managed to do it without inventing a one-time scale of “x 9/11s” that never gets used again
Which was scaling an Israeli-Palestinian death total to the US population 😱
