Probably not. It may have gotten much messier than they anticipated. But then, they have a golden ticket to destroy all of Hamas when they carry out such an act. If I were Israel I would bulldoze the Gaza strip. Eff them all.

Reason 1: If they acted to stop the attack then it may not give them enough ammo to totally wipe out Hamas. The outside pressure may have been to great for them to greatly limit their actions. This would have allowed Hamas to stay in control, and another attack like this would have been planned in the future...maybe even a worse one.

Reason 2: If they would have stopped this attack, and Hamas would have remained, then that means Hamas remains in power with Iran likely developing nukes soon. A heavy deterrent, plus Iran could give Hamas a nuke and they would be crazy enough to use it in the future.

Israel might have just wanted to just go ahead and rip that band aide off.

Are you talking about the committee that has openly proclaimed Israel controls the media and shouldn't be allowed into the UN? That committee?

I wonder why Israel doesn't want to work with them. It would seem you're making the mistake, again, of hearing the letters "UN" and thinking that means "neutral".

They’ve presented plenty of evidence to the UN. I don’t fault the Israelis for their less than trusting view of the UN.

What say you? Who do you believe?

Hamas clearly states that its fighters did not sexually assault any women. That those behaviors are prohibited.

Israeli witnesses and survivors tell a different story.

The article you linked says they're not cooperating with the UN investigators. You say they've provided them plenty of evidence. So you know more than NBC?

Read my edit. This is the same committee whose members openly declared Israel has no place at the UN and that Israel controls the media. Also participated in the infamous 2001 UN committee on racism that ended with both the US and Israel refusing to participate and the UN only finding racism in Israel, miracously.

It seems you’re making the mistake, again, of seeing the letter UN, and assuming it means “neutral”

The chair of a U.N. commission of inquiry investigating war crimes in the Israel-Hamas war has said it will focus on sexual violence by Hamas in the Oct. 7 attacks and will pass along any evidence to the International Criminal Court,
Why pass up the opportunity to shine light on hamas' crimes?

It says they have not cooperated with the “U.N. commission of inquiry investigating war crimes in the Israel-Hamas war”

“So far, Israel has not cooperated with the commission, saying it has an anti-Israel bias.”

It’s right under the damn headline. Is NBC lying? Spreading Israeli propaganda?

Yes, that specific committee. It's members have openly proclaimed Israel has no place in the UN and proclaimed the jews control the media. It's not a new committee they just put together for the sake of investigating this attack. It's been around.

Once again: Why do you continue to see "UN" and believe it means "neutral"?

So they shun the official investigative body and set up their own panel. Right. That's not providing evidence to the UN.
If you're the victim of a crime you cooperate with authorized officials, not just call a meeting of your friends and show them your evidence. Israel's missing an opportunity to show the world what hamas did. Why?

Show them the evidence. If they ignore it then use that to reform the committee. Remember that Israel has the US in their corner.

That's literally never stopped the UN from going after Israel. What was the stat we shared the other day, something like 65x more that the UN has called out Israel than any other country. Not to mention the 2001 meeting to condemn racism that the US refused to take part in because the meeting was actually just a meeting to bash Israel?

Surely, you know these things and are just trolling.

Yes that’s where the concept of “belief” comes in.

Hamas says they didn’t do it.
Survivors from Nova said they did.

You don’t find the Nova survivors anymore believable than actual Hamas spokesmen.

Pretty telling…
