Israel vs Palestinians

Ok, you and only you are absolved. The rest of us pay for this mess and our representatives encourage it. And very few stand against it.
Eventually this recent dust up will settle. The rest of you will get complacent. Fret over something else you can do nothing about. You won't vett candidates based on Israeli-Palestinian policy. You won't volunteer to fight over there. You won't attempt a coup here to bring our government under constitutional constraints.
There a bad things happening all over the world everyday. We talk about them. That's as far as it goes.

We don't know when this one will settle but ideally the resolution will be soon and fair. While it's true that there's plenty of situations in the world to fret about, not many (or none?) have our involvement like this one. Many of us do and will consider candidates' position on this when we vote, and it's very likely that a bigger share will in future elections. Some just talk and there are those who take action.

Considering how important this is for you, have you written to your Congressional representative, senators, and the president in an effort to take action? If so, what are they telling you in reply? If not, why not?

We have elections. They don't.
They elected Hamas

Hamas won the 2006 Palestinian legislative elections and assumed administrative control of Gaza Strip and West Bank. In 2007, Hamas led a military victory over Fatah, the secular Palestinian nationalist party, which had dominated the Palestinian National Authority.

No reply yet. AIPAC's got me out-influenced anyway, and I'm not so sure that any of the three can actually read.

How was this guy lighting himself on fire anything more then a temper tantrum??? Basically if your significant other threaten and attempt to kill themselves because they didnt likebyour behavior towards them you'd mock them for acting like a child and needing mental help...this is jo different. I wonder why he didn't just join Hamas??? Then he could have fought for the cause instead of seek attention of course he'd probably be shot by hamas before getting that chance...

When is Nash doing his fiery LGBTQ video protesting trans rights??

My friends went to DC to talk to their rep and senators about international adoption.

Are you planning a trip to meet your DC leaders face to face?

Hamas hasn't contolled the WB.
As for Gaza, 2006 was how many years ago? What did hamas do after the election? They literally killed their competition and consolidated their hold on power (tey also got a lot of assistance from Israel). Gaza is not a democracy in any sense.

I did, then walked away and helped her get help...I think when you understand that people whom use hysterical behavior as a weapon for getting thier way like a child then it becomes ammusing... and given your championing of it as well as your hysteric in this thread and others...I expect you video for attention will happen soon...I mean this idiot is a national story

So they were elected in 2006 correct??? So Palestinians elected a dictatorial regime and now are surprised when they act like a dictatorial regime??

You're really grasping at straws to make your team look good and the other team look bad. The election was almost 20 years ago. A big part of the Palestinian population wasn't even born then. Do you think hamas ran on a platform of becoming dictators?

wanting to kill yourself or others is the basic working definition of “unstable”. But if you want actual diagnoses suicidal ideation a R45.851 and F32.A
and yet most in here are are vehemently defending the murder of hundreds if not thousands; and justifying it to themselves any way they can.

It would be different if yall were honest about what is going on, but yall dress it up and act like its different just because you agree with it.

No more weird than openly speaking about your envy for a man who killed himself. If his actions are so admirable and make a real difference, maybe I’m the one who is wrong. Don’t me let deter you

Your body, your choice
people are generally supportive and view positively that Tibetan monk that lit himself on fire. Not sure why this guy is viewed so different.

As a non voter, im off the hook.

But I don't think voters are complicit. Voters are constantly choosing the lesser of bad choices. None of us decided to make Israel the Jews place after WW2. We're not part of the PLO or IDF.
Has any seriously viable candidate ever run who promised to address the conflict? Clinton brokered a peace agreement that fell apart like always.
I cannot be held responsible for a hostile group being generationally angry for 70 or 80 yrs.
you may not be responsible for what happens to you. but you are 100% responsible for how you respond to it. you're level of involvement and "emotional" attachment to one side or the other is generally your fault. As Rush says if choose no to decide, you still have made a choice.

have people HONESTLY pushed for a candidate that does seek an actual solution that was a net positive for both sides? or do most people just want to ignore it?

not saying that one should feel one way or another, or that there was a clean choice; just that you are responsible for yourself even without an active role.
