I've Had It

What was he saying then? There's no reason that we should not be able to get to and stay at an elite level with the right coach. We're in a power conference, we have excellent facilities, we have a self sustaining athletic department, boosters flush with cash, a close proximity to a major metro area, plenty of coeds...

What's holding us back? The fact that we haven't won before? That's something baby boomers hang on to. It will never manifest on the court, and for someone to tell Tennessee fans they can't and shouldn't try to ask for an elite program, well that's just ignorant and they deserve to be mocked accordingly.

And he's won the thing!

Tennessee is at an elite level right now.

Unless you think everyone makes the tourney on a year in, year out basis

If we're at an elite level then we should expect to finish as a top 32 team every year and make the tournament, and not celebrate it as the end all be all.

Tenn was two points away from the final four last year.

Great, that doesn't have anything to do with what I was saying. You tried to put us in our "rightful place" and I didn't buy it.

I've been a huge Bruce supporter and I still am, but sometimes you just gotta make the call....Tennessee is at the point to where we can find another coach just as good if not better....We have some of the best facilities in the country and barring we go on probation I think we would have coaches lining up to be here...

Ive told much worse lies in my career and done much crummier things than CBP for that reason I cant sit here and say he should be fired.
They have gont to the tournament more than most teams in the country since he has been here and he usually beats Florida thats enough for me.

I wonder if Mich. St. fans are calling for Izzo's head right now. Or Roy Williams last year. Maybe Jim Boeheim during the 06-08 seasons? Billy Donovan 07-09?

Go ahead and say it..but they've all won championships. Sure they have, and thats just the point. Even championship winning coaches field bad teams some years. Pearl has put our program in the spotlight like never before (cue NCAA investigation joke) and just in the past 2 years has us on the level that we can recruit competitively with the rest of the elite programs in the NCAA.

Turnover sucks when you're a program that has to rebuild instead of reload. When you lose a lot of your productivity it is REALLY hard to find guys to immediately step up into their place. Especially when some of the expected contributors are freshmen.

I'm of the opinion that if the NCAA doesn't bring the hammer down, Pearl stays and has the opportunity to prove this was a one time mistake and a one time bad (awful even?) team.

Which one of these coaches lied to the NCAA during an investigation, embarrassed their respective program and were suspended for half of league play?

You don't get to lie to the AA and send the team out to play Luke they don't give a crap for a couple of months.

Which can also be interpreted as if the NCAA hands down major sanctions, suspensions or punishments otherwise, then I have no problem getting rid of him.

A one time mistake? Great job minimizing things.

Which mistake? Screwing over Deon Thomas? Having the barbeque? Lying about it? Getting the recruits and coaches to lie about it? Having the impermissable phone calls? Or inviting recruits to his house while at Wisconsin Milwaukee?
