I've Had It

You would think this was a kansas basketball board.

Bruce Pearl is the probably the best coach tennessee has ever had.

My answers:
1. You've described every team in the country and every fanbase's analysis of their team. The record speaks for itself though.

2. I don't agree with this at all, recruiting classes have been good and have another good class coming in next year. Again, the record is speaking for itself.

3. Possibly yes.

1. I watch a lot of basketball and I am sure you do as well. You cannot deny the jekyll and hydeness of the teams the last three years is greater and more consistent at UT than at other of the top-notch programs in the country that the fans want to be like.

2. Right now I see a bunch of good recruiting classes that haven't produced nearly as much as they should on paper. Whether that's a product of beind overhyped, under-coached, the players being downright stupid, or some combo of the three I don't know. I just know that we've got 4 top 100 players that can't sniff the floor behind two D-2 caliber guys and I don't understand why I should expect them to suddenly turn into contributing players overnight.

3. I'd say more probable than possible.

Let me just throw one stat at everyone here.

Tennessee is the only sec school to make the ncaa tourney in both of the last two seasons. That's only a two year window. 12 teams and only 1 school made back to back tourneys, let alone 5

Don't take consistently making the tourney for granted.

I doubt the streak continues this year

There are people who celebrate just making the tournament, and people who just celebrate winning the tournament.

For sake of argument, let's say you are right and they miss the tourney. I don't think they will, by the way. But, again let's say you right.

you really want to get rid of him for one bad year?

Your sound logic is falling on deaf ears this morning, typical of a fanbase after an ugly loss. People tend to lose perspective.

What also gets lost is that Kentucky hasn't lost at home since the 2008-2009 season.

Bruce himself may have made that decision

I'm done with Bruce Pearl.

There. I said it. Time to move on.
you guys r the worst band wagon fans ive ever seen these are the same people who were supportors last season when they were winning and now your ready to dump him now that there in trouble come on now lets get behind him and get throughit you cant just support him when tennessees in the elight 8 you have to support him when there losing too

And everyone should damn well know what category tennessee belongs in.

I know what category florida belongs in and we actually won the thing twice.

Be happy making the tourney. Some years, you will make a run. Some years, you won't.

Tennessee is not kansas, ky, nc, duke, etc, etc, etc

Yeah I don't know why they bothered to make the trip north and from wha I witnessed effort wise the players must have agreed.

That's exactly right guys. You people should know better than to try to reach for an elite level. History says Tennessee can't be good at basketball, so that means its idiotic to try and get better. Tennessee will always be a football school and that means the Vols are absolutely not allowed to be good at basketball. The Florida fan put us in our place and we must listen to him.

You are absolutely correct. You can't make a run in the tournament if you don't get in. The more opportunities you have, the greater chance that you will eventually make a run, or perhaps even win the tournament.

For me its him playing Pearl and Mcbee, when its obvious they suck, thats turning me against him. Its hard to rotate 12 or 14 guys in any situation, but when he cut the rotation down he cut the wrong 2!!!

Maybe you should be mad at the players that are superiorly talented but cant beat them out instead of Mcbee, Pearl or the coaching staff.

until he stops wearing the orange blazer, he ain't done my friends. that or the university fires him.

That's not what he's saying at all. I knew this comeback would eventually be coming though.

Hammy will be gone before Pearl...and the new AD will then have a decision to make. For me, the decision on Pearl has to wait 'til we see who the new AD is, what kind of track record and/or contacts he has, etc. If we whiff on the AD hire, I don't want some half-wit trying to be a hero with hiring "his guy" as the next MBB coach.

I think you should go to the Pitt board and tell them that too. They should in no way be thinking title this year and just be happy making the dance. After all, they aren't a legendary program either and as far as history UT and them are fairly similar.

Even if you are great, the tourney is a crap shoot.

Florida's first ncaa title team didn't even win the conference title.

What was he saying then? There's no reason that we should not be able to get to and stay at an elite level with the right coach. We're in a power conference, we have excellent facilities, we have a self sustaining athletic department, boosters flush with cash, a close proximity to a major metro area, plenty of coeds...

What's holding us back? The fact that we haven't won before? That's something baby boomers hang on to. It will never manifest on the court, and for someone to tell Tennessee fans they can't and shouldn't try to ask for an elite program, well that's just ignorant and they deserve to be mocked accordingly.

And he's won the thing!
