The victims stated that moments before calling 911, they were sitting in their parked vehicle, a 1998 Hyundai Elantra on the southwest corner of the convenience store, while their friend was inside. The victims stated they had parked next to a light blue Toyota Prius. The victims stated that a black male then approached, wearing a black hoodie, brandished a black semi-auto handgun, opened the drivers door and stated, "Give me everything you have." The victims stated that a black male then exited from the passenger side of the Prius, wearing a black hoodie, walked around to the front passenger door of their car, opened it, and stated, "Give us everything you've got." The victims stated that they all presented their wallets to the suspects and showed them that they did not have money. The victims stated that a third black male then approached and told the other two black males, "We've got to go." The victims then stated that the three got into the Prius and that it was last seen traveling southbound on Volunteer Blvd West.

As the officers received information about the suspects and vehicle, it was bolod so that other responding officers could attempt to locate it. A witness indicated there was a female driving the car and that it was occupied by three black males when she had observed it. As we continued to investigate, assisting officers observed the suspect vehicle in question, traveling near Gibbs Hall on Lake Loudoun Blvd. A felony stop was conducted on the vehicle, a 2010 Toyota Prius, light blue in color, on Neyland Dr near Leinard Ln. Four subjects were detained from the vehicle: a light-skinned black female, Marie Montmarquet and three black males: Janzen Jackson , Michael Edwards and Nukeese Richardson .

In plain view, officers observed two black hoodies on the back seat. Underneath the back seat towards the middle, officers located a black, CO2 powered pellet gun. Inside the glove box, officers located a marijuana grinder. A search of the suspects revealed one clear plastic baggie containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana in Montmarquet's jacket pocket. Montmarquet would later state that the marijuana grinder also belonged to her. Crime Lab responded to the scene and confiscated the hoodies, the pellet gun and the marijuana grinder. The vehicle was towed to the City Impound lot. The marijuana was confiscated by officers.

I hate it for these players and understand we all make stupid mistakes, but when the actions of those mistakes affect others, like UT, and the players, I believe a quick resolution by the school and staff has to be taken that demonstrates that this type of behavior will not be tolerated at UT.

The sad part here as a fan is I was looking forward to seeing JJ play in the future. He has already shown on the field that he is one of the best freshman in the country. No matter what his role was in the event, he was there ans was still with them when the police arrested them. If he didn't want to be involved he could have left, but he did not.

This is when I do not envy CLK to have to decide on this. Especially after the season UT is having. With all the positives thing that are coming out of UT, this did not help.

What is there to decide? An altercation with a bouncer and missing home are one thing, armed robbery another. I feel bad for Kiffen believing these guys, "having their back," and they do something like this.

I still don't think any of this makes sense. Wouldn't we know if these guys had records before. What makes you starting robbing people at gunpoint?

What would we do without your insight? Thank you so much for talking us through this difficult situation.

The range for a first time offender is 8-12 years, and it is not a probatable offense, meaning the legislature has said that it is too serious to get probation. You can get a 7.2 year sentence as a mitigated offender, but that is the best case scenario if convicted as charged.

This is serious. In Memphis, where I practice, aggravated robbery is a no deals case, meaning the DA will not reduce the charges unless there is an ethical issue or a serious legal issue with the case. These guys are looking at a minimum of a few years in jail.

Damn, it sounds like JJ just got caught up in the situation. Happens to use all but we all had to pay.

This may be a dumb question but with them gone now, will this open up more scholarship spots for this year?

I am so disillusioned.

1) Pahokee sucks. Stop wasting your time. Spend more time in Tampa/Miami/Orlando/Jacksonville.

2) I guess those inroads we were 'making' in Ohio are shot to hell now, eh?

3) WTF was Janzen Jackson thinking?

4) We can now sign 31 in this class.

No this does not allow UT to sign more players. You can only give 25 scholarships per year max. If there were less then 25 new ones given out in 2009 then you add some to those with EEs. Since these players started the season they count towards the 25 for last year and the 85 max. So this does not opens spot for the 2010 class.

UA had the same issue in the spring when we released 6 players because of misconduct issues. We were not allowed to replace them in the count for the next season. Hence why we had to grayshirt players this fall.

thats a pretty bogus statement.
those areas have just as many if not more problem children.

btw the muck has produced stars like
Anquan Boldin
Fred taylor
Reidel Anthony
Santonio Holmes
alfonso Smith

for every Dunce like Nukeese you can find 5 more guys who are or have contributed positively to their football teams

Can someone knowledgeable on this subject please explain when and how this will effect recruiting? When the three scholarships will open back up and/or be available to be filled?

It does nothing to either the 85 max this year on a team per year or the number that can be signed for 2010. No matter what becomes of them, stay on the team or not, they count against both numbers for the current year and the 2009 class. The only year they will affect it the 2011 class.

Remember a school can give out 25 scholarships out each year for the incoming class, but can only max out up to 85 total on the team. If UT with backcounts as origianlly planned for this incoming class they will have 25 assigned to the 2009 and 25 to 2010 class. That is 50 of the allocated players towards the 85. If these 3 are dismissed then it would additional space for future classes to be maxed out starting in 2011.
