J.P. Prince Transferring to Tennessee?

Of course. He voices his opinion on just about everything. He's going to be wrong sometimes. I know Hat doesn't need me to stick up for him, and people will probably laugh at me rushing to his defense, but this bump is laughable. JP contributed to a nice run at the end of this year. Let's not pretend that his entire 3 years here consisted of exceptional basketball. Tennessee stepped it up when things got ugly this year. There are some guys who deserve credit for that, and Prince was one of them.

Like he said it would. He didn't think Pearl would be willing to change his style. He was willing to.

He said that JP was undeserving of a scholarship period. He also stated that JP had no talent whatsoever. How much more wrong could you be. Even if every year was not as good as this one, it isn't like he was totally worthless before either.

He also was calling for a coaching change before the tournament started. Kinda hard to believe when we have a coach who has taken us to the tournament every year. Hatvol never has much basis for his opinion, that is the problem I have.

If we bumped every thread where someone was wrong, we'd be swimming in old threads.
To be fair, when people spend a great deal of time arguing/discussing something, it's not wrong that they call someone out when they're right. Seems like that has almost become the idea of being a sports fan...

That being said, these bumps aren't really needed.

JP Prince had a few decent moments in 2007-2008 and did little to alleviate our struggles last year. It isn't like he was all world this year, either. Did he help us this year? Absolutely. Was as he as good as some people thought he was going to be? No chance in hell.

I'm quite confident the bold parts are complete crap.

I agree, if I thought it was wrong per se, then it would defeat my point that opinions are what drive something like a messageboard. I just think some people are overly sensitive to individuals who wear their opinions more on their sleeves than they themselves do.

It shouldn't stop people from pointing out wrong statements or arguing the validity of an opinion, but making it like a board agenda to turn someone into a pinata over it is kind of over the top.

Just thought I would comment on this thread so that I could easily find it later....It has all the makings of a classic.

Just for the record, every time Hat has been wrong about something he is usually the first person to say so.

As if we've never seen that before. Let me help you, and all the other people who are relatively new to this forum. Hat has been here for years, and has always proven to know what he is talking about, even if he is wrong about predictions. You may have some complaints about Hat, but there is a reason people have been reading his blogs, post game reports, and his general posts/threads for years now. I'll give you a hint. It's not because everyone on this forum likes to read criticism of Bruce Pearl.

It doesn't bother me if you, or some other people, don't really care for Hat's posts, but please don't lecture everyone about something we've been reading for years when you signed up under a month ago.

Gospel.

I'd love to see proof I was calling for a coaching change. Of course, it doesn't exist. Some people are just strangers to the truth.

If I was incredibly committed to this arguement I would go through threads and find examples. However since I am lazy and so incredibly tired, let's just say you win.

Wow. Are you just arguing semantics or what?

I'm going to love pulling up this thread in a couple of years when KO has SC in the 'AAs and people here have finally clued in to what an utter sham and a snake Tanning Bed Bruce is. Of course, the tears of the Star of David Bodypaint Brigade will have caused the Tennessee River to rise to flood stage and Pratt Pavilion will collapse due to shifting soil, but that's just too bad.

You may have not literally ever called for a coaching change, but you have posted 300 times similar to this one.

Call it what you want to call it.

When do the threads where Pearl's minions ripped me for saying Marques Johnson. Tony Passley, and Phillip Jurick were wasted scholarships get bumped? While we are at it, can we get some of those "Hatvol is crazy, Chris Lofton will be a much better pro than Rajon Rondo" discussions brought to the fore?

Can you stop trying to change the subject, man up, and admit you were dead wrong.

Only when sheep like you admit your deity had to forsake the trash system he so ferevently believed in to achieve even a modicum of March success. Also, how much point guard did JP Prince play at UT? How did it turn out when he did?

That is completely irrelevant. Who cares what postition he played. What he did do is help lead our team to a deep tournament appearance. Your opinion on him was that and I pretty much quote this, "JP isn't qualified enough to play JUCO ball." He did ok for a guy with no talent in my opinion.

No, he wouldn't. There's a very simple reason he couldn't get off the bench at Arizona: He can't play. Arizona wouldn't have Shakur logging the kind of minutes he is if Prince was anything other than practice fodder. An absolute waste of a scholarship.

now that's good stuff....

This contains some qualification but is dead wrong.

In fact the entire reason I originally began to dislike someone I respect as a good writer and sometimes a great interviewer is because I was attacked by him out of the blue (in a football thread about Morley) when he said something that was 100% wrong. When I showed him that 2+2 does not =5 he put me on ignore and yet somehow managed to continue to show up and take shots at me over and over every time I wrote something.

If Hatvol said, "oh man, I thought no one made millions in turkish basketball, but people actually do" I would never have been in the group of people who looked on him with scorn for anything other than his obsessive hatred for the coach of our team.

Not true. Hat said Pearl was UNABLE to coach good half court defense. He did not say he was unwilling. There is a big difference.

if your going to post your opinion all over the board and act as if your always right in your posts.... then I agree that threads should be allowed to be brought back up. If you have guts to type something ... you should be able to man up and admit when your wrong.

Some people on here act as if reminding people of what they were saying is a bad thing. Real people look into the past and learn from it.... some just keep spouting off all the time and never really make any changes. They usually believe their right in just about everything.

Anyone has right to go around and give their negative opinion about our players and coaches until everything goes right..... Why do the ones that support the coaches and players not get the same respect when we remind these people that they were predicting different just about everday.

Stay on course lil buddy. No1 said he was all world. SOMEONE DID SAY that he wasn't worth a scholly. If your gonna come on here with an elitist attitude and piss on anyone that disagrees, be ready to take it when you are wrong. (Esp something of this mag) waiste of a scholly, eh? How about this, Hatvol is a waiste of a membership.
