Jabari McGhee to WKU

What rumors are you seeing? Everything from point shaving to 3 guys running the train on a girl and filming it to rape to academic impropriety in the fall semester are swirling. No one in BG is speaking. There's no academic concerns, no NCAA concerns, no police investigation at this point according to WKU insiders and the 3 guys were still enrolled and on campus as of early this week. Many are saying they know what happened but none are willing to reveal it.

My guess is on the train and the coach must have filmed it

I would say that is a good hire but interesting as well. Rick had his own controversy in Starkville.

He got an early commitment from Scotty Hopson to MS St., who then held out for the Spring signing period when he opted to sign with Bruce Pearl.

He had some issues late in his tenure at MSU including losing control of his players. Rinardo Sydney was out of control, and there was at least one fight between players. He also had a couple of guys suspended, one for going pro but coming back. I think one of them had to be suspended after the end of the semester, but he wanted him to play to start league play. So, Stansbury set up a schedule where the team played like 5-6 games in an 8 day stretch including a west coast trip. They didn't play well. It was all very odd. Also, there were also rumors about his recruiting at MSU, but you have to play the game in basketball recruiting.

This is actually really good for Auntie Dee, Jabari McGhee and Willie Carmichael in my opinion. One thing that always stood out with Stansbury when he was at State was that he always got the most out of his big men. Renardo Sidney was known for being
immature, and having an attitude that most thought made him uncoachable. Aside from a fight with his own teammate in the bleachers before a preseason game in Maui, Rick got the most out of him.

Sidney is just one example, but an impressive one at that because he was a 4 or 5 star that could have had the gameplan built around him at another school. Yet when he played for Stansbury he was required to lose weight and work on his defense and became a really good shot blocker as a result.

One of the bigger concerns fans had about Rick at MSU is that to be successful he needed a deep bench at the post, which is what he will have at WKU. Whenever we played MSU back in the day Rick was good at using his post players to force us to the peremeter by blocking shots and playing physical in the paint. On offense he used his big guys to slow the game down, and usually tried to use up the shot clock each possession and get the ball to a big on the low post for an easy bucket.

Good for Jabari and Willie because they struggled with fouls here, but Stansbury's physical play in the paint will cater to their playing style, and their depth will give him a solid rotation to spread the fouls out.

Who was the guy that played at MSU that was a nasty shot blocker? Jarvis V.. something?

That dude could block some shots. Unfortunately, that's all he could do though lol. I remember the Heat gave him a shot at one point.

Indy, I am hoping and praying that this will work in the best interest of Jabari as well as Willie.

Saw his little brother in the state tourney last spring vs Carter and Bowden. I think he signed with Kent State

Stansbury is a solid hire for Western Kentucky and now it will be interesting to see whom Vanderbilt gets to replace Stallings.
