I wasn't actually trying to take a pot shot at Kellie but I can see how it would look that way, I wasn't one of her naysayers by any means. I quite literally can't remember what it's like to have multiple top recruits out of high school, and it really does feel good.Is there a reason you can’t celebrate this commitment without taking potshots at the prior coaches?
Confusing. I've heard her say that. But then we get told all the time here that the most important factors are possesion and shot attempt margin, rebounding margin, and forced t.o.s. And that's how we've been playing. Were not supposed to either on offense. Coach wants good shots and good shot decisions. She has commented many times on wanting better shot selection and better offensive decisions.

I honestly didn't know who this was and thought it was a football recruit from the pic. I mean no offense...and I'm glad we got her. It'd be nice to get that program in the same vicinity of where it once was.
Very true…. she had a winning % a little over 50 at all her stops. She never would have been hired if she wasn’t a former Lady Vol. I love Kellie but I am glad that we went outside the family and found someone who has the qualities of a great coach. It’s great to be a Tennessee Lady Vol!!Once again, she never recruited well at the P4 level. She couldn’t recruit before NIL was a thing. That makes NIL an excuse.
You do not need a true post if you have an Angel Reese. If you have an athletic player who is between 6-3-6-5 who knows how to block out, refuses to give an inch or up, and is tough as nails, you will be good against just about any post player. You also have to attack the boards with several players.LSU won without a center

Not surprisingly, you missed the point. The thread isn’t about “a factual discourse over an abject failure of a coach”. It’s about the commitment of a great player. Let me try to simplify my point. If you want to criticize prior coaches, do it in a separate thread rather than backhandedly doing it in a thread about a great new recruit. Is there a reason you can’t handle factual discourse over an abject failure of a coach?
Some of yall really need to learn to separate her LVFL status from her head coaching tenure. I love Kellie as a LVFL. Her coaching tenure became unbearable. No recruits, no big wins, all talk, no action.
It’s unfortunate she was put in a situation at her Alma mater she just wasn’t equipped for. It’s natural for people to make immediate comparisons given our recruiting last year vs 1 year later with a different head coach and a different staff.
Kellie’s playing days don’t insulate her from scrutiny as a coach in my opinion. Sorry not sorry.
That said, yes it’s a dead horse at this point, but there are going to be a lot of notable positives this year compared to the last few and it’s natural to draw comparison.
Exactly! Also another great example is Alysha Clark who played at Belmont and then Middle Tennessee State University. She now plays for the Las Vegas Aces and has won several titles in the WNBA. She has always played bigger then her size. She is maybe 5'11 but is relentless on the board and super athleticYeah too many people get caught up on size when it’s about desire.
Anriel Howard was always my example there. She was 5’11” but just had an insane motor and pursued the basketball with a passion.
Defend other bigs well because she often prevented them from catching with quick defensive footwork. She would get the steal or deflection before they ever got a chance to catch and make a move.
