This is something I really would like to know about. Everyone fought and spit over the NIL support (or seeming lack thereof, especially from the big NIL collectives, who supposedly would not assist at all) over the last five years, and how that support level compares to the current level of support (both in financial totals and impact to recruiting attitudes).
I'm not saying the money is the sole reason for this turnaround. I couldn't say to what extent it is. But all of a sudden, five star players want to come to Tennessee again - and before UT's even made a statement on the court? From a coach who hasn't won at the highest level yet? Was it really just the last coach? Or was some of it - more than some might want to admit - the lack of NIL money? A question I would love to have an informed answer for.
