And 17 penalties
At least they called penalties against bama in that game, just wish they called a bama game where correct penalties are called against them week in and week our, also give Vols credit for the pressure they put on bama that day
Go Vols

Bad take. Schools like MTSU often have players that are very talented, that’s why they get drafted. They have fewer, but some gems. Ohio State is chasing one of their DL.
Yep, with that bad; take no one would have wanted that receiver from Chattanooga (TO) back when. He couldn't have been too good, Oh wait...

People need to realize too that some players at the FCS or group of 5 level aren't there just because lack of size/talent. Many are there because of grades or behavioral issues that other programs didn't want to take a risk on. Now with the transfer portal, players out of high school with issues can get their **** together at smaller schools and eventually move up to major programs. Not saying that was the case with Thomas, but there are definitely cases like that. It's basically the new JUCO transfer.

He has some violence and down hill ability, his film looks great, but only a few clips I've seen

Ive been following this stuff long enough to know you’re not going to beat Georgia/bama with transfers from MTSU.
Bama got a transfer WR from W Ky a couple years ago who played a lot for them. Some G5 players develop to P 5 level. You never know.

We will see how this turns out vs what we had, but this kid is tough with the attitude of a winner.

Hey, at least he's not from Truman State... a coach would be crazy to take a chance on one of those.
Yep, its a crap shot but there are a lot of guy playing in the NFL from G5 teams. I say its a crap shot because sometimes they just look better because the competition but sometimes, it's because they are the only one that's really good and you put that type with a good too great supporting cast he shines. Somehow NFL guys are good at finding these guys hope we hit gold. From what I read on Shrader Drink never even watched him play just took a guy's word because he was just going to be a PWO at first, then he earned a scholarship, and we know the rest.

Maybe it just wasn't that they knew. Maybe initiated the action.
I have considered that. Definitely possible but it doesn’t sound like Heupel. I do however see Heupel honestly informing them that they were going to have to up their game because the incoming freshmen were already capable of starting. Heupel wouldn’t tell them to leave per se; but he wouldn’t sugar coat the outlook either

Banks has been given a short deck. This year, however, will tell the tale in my opinion.
Banks has already proven his worth to me this year by what he was able to do with the front seven, especially before all of our LBs became a MASH unit.
I think once he gets this new crop of young DBs coached up, the passing defense will become absolutely feared around the league

You always hear about playing known commodities, veterans, those who you know what to expect. Well we got that for 2 yrs, it didn't work, and you got what was expected. Look forward to some new names in the secondary....and a difference. Otherwise we're gonna need a coach or two with new names too.

On the secondary, call me when Martinez is in the Portal.
WM isn't the problem the talent is. WM has developed several guys that are playing or have played in the NFL. Our roster was depleted and the staff has been here 3 years. They still need time to get a couple of positions up to speed. If you don't agree name one secondary player that would start at any top 15 program.

Some players just slip through the cracks. This kid has the physical attributes and it looks like he hits hard too
When your safeties make as many tackles as this youngster has it means he's not skeered to put his nose into the opponents run game, a very good thing. It also means the 7 in front of him were probably hot garbage.

Kamal Hadden would have started at a few. I think Slaughter will play at Ole Miss. Jeudy Lally might find a starting spot in the right scheme. I mostly agree that we need to upgrade the talent and depth especially at corner. But that is not the only problem.
