When you score a touchdown and not a single teammate comes to congratulate you or acknowledges it, you must have done something to Piss everyone off. Can’t remember what game it was but I have never seen anything like it in college or professional where your whole team ignores you. That tells me something about him.
Kamara who we now know was at least as equally talented if not more so and was forced to play behind Hurts had good reasons to quit and never did. However Hurts quit on us. How’ out Hurts take his search for glory back to Baylor, the school he didn’t quit on is my opinion. I can’t see the need for UT fans to expend the slightest of breath or energy on him at all.
That's no excuse to leave mid-season. That's quitting on your teammates and us fans. Life sucks sometimes. We all have bosses we don't like. His leaving did not serve his football career well either
When it all went down I thought the same thing; however, Butch Jones was never honest with Hurd. He kept lying to him so he wouldn't transfer. Hurd finally had enough. I can't blame him for that.

That was Alex Ellis.Was it someone named Alex French?

I might still have that NW game on DVR. I will check.
@malibuvol Was it Jakob Johnson?
I wish him the best. He certainly had a rough go of it with Butch Jones botching his career.

He was recruited as a RB and demanded to be moved to TE. He acted on bad advice from people around him. Blame all you wish on Jones but this was on Hurd. He could have been the next Derek Henry. He had a bright future in the League as a RB.I wish him the best. He certainly had a rough go of it with Butch Jones botching his career.

You’re not wrong. That said some of these kids aren’t accustomed to making the right decisions. If this kid and others had leadership from the coaching staff and in the lockerroom it leads to better decision making and more team unity. Far too many on those Butch teams were playing for themselves and not the program or team. Doesn’t make it any better but I thought it’s at least worth mentioningThat's no excuse to leave mid-season. I get his attitude but the guy caught the ball, looked at the one defender and thought he was going to score so he carelessly let up because he didn't see the other guy. I just don't see the "showboating".Best of luck to him. He created some big excitement for a while. If there was a watershed moment, I would guess when he lost the ball while "showboating" in the end zone. Was it Georgia?
