Did you read the article? He was a version of that Djoker guy. He had already shot up the place and was gonna throw some fire bombs. He got what he deserved apparently.

From the article: Sweikat was charged with armed disobedience against the king, as well as attacking, shooting and injuring security forces, civilians and passersby. He was also accused of destroying public property, causing chaos and disrupting the peace, by participating in a terrorist cell, to make and deliver Molotov cocktails.

But I do agree with you. I would never set foot in that **** hole either. There is nowhere in the middle east that I find even remotely desirable to visit.

If things ever settle down I'd love to see Egypt and Petra in Jordan.

Egypt reminded me of the parking lot scene at the mall in back to the future..but worse. Pyramids were cool though!

Outside of the touristy areas, Egypt is a **** hole...a historic **** hole, but a **** hole nonetheless.

I tend to think places that would be fascinating to visit over in North Africa/Middle East would be the historical sites in Egypt, Jerusalem for certain, Tunisia for the ruins of Carthage, Petra, the Dead Sea and Baalbek in Lebanon.
