He walked into a hostile environment of his own accord. Just like going for a hike in Afghanistan. Just because he was a 'journalist' doesn't give him special access to the US government, and it is certainly nothing that we should break down diplomatic relations/go to war over. He did something incredibly stupid and it cost him his life.Because he was a journalist working in the US.

Exactly. A murder was conducted within their sovereign country. It’s up to them if they want to allow diplomatic immunity or sovereign consideration for the embassy. But we have no dog in that fight.If anyone should be motivated to action, it should be Turkey. Not the U.S.
