Jamal Khashoggi

That still doesn’t justify us stepping in where it wasn’t our business he wasn’t a resident even and he was killed outside our country. None of our business
He has two children who are American citizens.
Is it our business when the parent of American citizens are murdered for political reasons? (Especially when they are journalist)

He didn't live here when he was murdered, he lived in Turkey. He contributed to a US publication but was not an employee. So try again and tell us why this is any of our business. This is an issue between Turkey and SA.
He is the parent of two American citizens who was brutally murdered for political reasons.

Tell you what. Let’s draw a red line and move on. That’s about the strongest response we’ve got any business doing.

So? He wasn't a citizen. If one of his kids that was a citizen was murdered then yeah you'd have a point.
You do hate continuums. They complicate that simplistic way of viewing all things as either black or white.

Why does his occasional column make him something special?

Obama assassinated a US citizen on purpose. Those crying over this guy bc he has kids who were citizens were/are awfully quiet about that.

This guy had ties to terrorists. It was basically one group of bad guys killing another bad guy. Nothing we should be losing sleep over.

If his kids are citizens simply by virtue of having been born here, then they shouldn't be US citizens anyway; we need to end that idiocy like most of the world, including all of Europe, has done.

Qualifying for citizenship through generations of ancestry can be just as stupid. You want to grant American citizenship to children that were born to parents that have never lived in the US? That’s what the European countries you’re talking about do generally.

Go look at the very small list of countries that still have unlimited birthright citizenship.
