Jarnell Stokes names his top 3

Coach Cal wins with NBA players who are forced to serve a year in college. None of those on the Memphis team last season.

Since when do the number of 5* players on Memphis' team not equal NBA players? Memphis has top 10 talent in the nation, didn't do anything with it.

Is he really working Stokes that badly?

He and the '13 post (who is a top 5 player in the country) were killing Stokes.

Stokes was unable to guard Niang, and had several shots blocked by the other post.

Stokes is legit, but he got absolutely worked today.

Interesting

It wasnt that bad. The Memphis crew is clearly less coached and played almost no defense anywhere. The post presence made the difference in the game. One team had it and the other really didnt or didnt have enough coaching to use it.

Niang had 21 pts (9 of 12 from the field) and 7 rebounds
Nerlens Noel (post mentioned above) had 17 points, 10 rebs, and 6 blocks

Stokes finished with 14 points
Goodwin finished with 10 points

Do you think that Niang is better than a 3* rating or was he just benefiting on the success of Noel?

Depends on those ahead of him. He looked good tonight, but everyone does when they're falling. Hard to tell with the lack of d being played Memphis squad.

I think we'd take him at UT, from what I saw tonight.

Looks like he committed to ISU in May after having a breakout spring. Has not been focusing on Bball because he was a Hockey player.

I have the feeling that his ranking and offer sheet is about to get better.... His avg position rankings for the recruiting services were in the 30's

Since none of them were projected first round draft picks and they all came back for a second year.

I don't think anyone said Memphis was a top 10 team coming into last season.

I guess the Tennessee faithful has to bash the guy for something though, am I right?

Noel was the difference.

Nerlens Noel is a player, and he's only a rising junior. the BABC team played great team defense, which the YOMCA team didn't.

Shaq and Stokes played like they were scared to take a body at Noels on offense.

I didn't think Nieng was that much of a factor. I was surprised that he scored 20+.

IIRC, Joe Jackson stated they would win a national championship.

Why would you assume that Memphis has top 10 "talent" (I guess you can manipulate that word to mean whatever you like)? We had a great recruiting class, but those players were all freshman. Care to explain?

Quit using that excuse please. See: Kentucky 2009. Face it, you guys have all the talent in the world and a twelve year old boy as head coach. I honestly feel for you guys, I really do.

What does our team have to do with 09 Kentucky, aside from several of those players being former Tiger commits?
