Jarnell Stokes names his top 3

I like him a lot! I think he gas done well. No concerns at all, in fact, he's ahead of the "rebuilding curve". I thought it would be 4-5 years. I hope CCM gets the support CJP received.

Pastner is obviously a very good recruiter, but you don't worry about him in games? Very sub-par there from what I've seen.

Last year he did a pretty awful job considering the level of the Memphis program compared to the level of the programs he lost to.

Memphis' worst nightmare is Stoke's getting away from Memphis, leaning towards another school and bringing Wilson with him... :)

I think Damien Wilson is about a solid commitment as can be expected these days.

Stokes will be the crown of this year's class, but if he decided to go elsewhere, we'd survive.

We may add another big, S. Goodwin or Tony Parker, along with Stokes.

I'd like us to put another guard into this class as well.

Gimme a break man, he was playing with a team full of freshmen.

Steve Lavin is a seasoned college coach and he's playing with a team full of freshman this season. Let's see how he does.

Granted I'm not an insider on Memphis bball like you guys, but from my POV, he's acquired some great and not done anything with it.

I agree to disagree...respectfully...CJP is a student of the game that is one of the brightest young coaches in the game. Memphis' strength of schedule destroys the debate of weak conference. His first two seasons were successful considering losing entire recruiting class & then having a team full of freshmen. A lot of "big schools" called his name to fill their void of a HC, he must have did something right.

Sorry if this is posted but there's an article on tos, can anyone summerize it.

"At first I really had kind of written them off after all that (the staff change), I didn't know anything about the new coaches, all I knew was that they were coming from Missouri State," Stokes said of his initial thoughts.

Martin's personal touch changed the landscape in the Vols' favor though.

"One day I just picked up the phone and talked to coach Martin though and it really opened my eyes," Stokes said. "He's a really cool guy, but more than that I felt like he really understands me, understands where I'm coming from and what I'm going through."

Top schools are UCONN, UF, Memphis, UKy, and Ark with the recent addition of UT

Thank you Mike, it might be a bit late but at least we still have a chance, for whatever reason Stokes is my favorite player.

He might not get a bunch of one and done prospects, but Martin is going to do a great job recruiting.

Cal won with freshmen. Basketball is one sport where freshmen can easily contribute. CUSA sucks as a whole, and he lost to the cupcakes like SMU.

He had more talent than 95% of the teams he played

Lavin had a top 2 recruiting class, so He'll have more talent on his team than a majority of the Big East teams, and most likely more talent than every OOC opponent. Like I said, we'll see what a "seasoned coach" does with that freshman talent.

Coach Cal wins with NBA players who are forced to serve a year in college. None of those on the Memphis team last season.

He's bringing in 9 new players and they lost everyone from last years team. Memphis wasn't a well coached team last year. The zone they ran against UT was pathetic

I didn't know that anyone was touting the greatness of CUSA but to put it in perspective, out of 33 conferences, CUSA finished 8th last year. The SEC finished 6th, just behind the Mountain West. If you think CUSA is that bad, you might want to re-evaluate your opinion of the SEC.

You go find where that I have said the SEC was great last year, so that I can see it. I'll wait.
