Jarnell Stokes names his top 3

Stokes' head is getting bigger and bigger with his recruiting hype. I'll admit that I glance at the kid's twitter page every once in a while. It used to be filled with tweets about workouts and putting in extra work on the basketball court, now it's just retweets from Memphis and Arky fans talking isht about the other school. It's almost as weird as the grown men who send him tweets on a daily basis.

Because he re-tweets some of the probably dozens of tweets he receives each day? Archie Goodwin and Chicken Knowles do the same thing. Nothing wrong with it, and I definitely don't see how it's making his head bigger. Nothing wrong with showing some appreciation so-to-speak for his fan/followers.

Memphis still leads though. Hopefully the guy can gain his focus; he'll be a big impact for the Tigers next season, then off to the NBA.

Jarnell is a 6-7 power forward who does not have the skill set or athleticism to play the 3. He will never be a successful perimeter guy in college much less the pros. How many
successful 6-7 power forwards are there in
the NBA? Until Jarnell decides that he should pattern his game after Paul Millsap instead of Carmelo, he's not going to be a very good college player much less an NBA prospect

He's legit 6'8"-6'9". Tobias Harris went as a lotto pick (or close), expect similar from Stokes. I'm not gauranteeing 1 year, but you're really, really dumb for thinking he won't play in the NBA.

If he committed to the Vols tomorrow you'd change your tune overnight.

Why retweet them? To let the world know he's getting attention from all these fanbases, that's why. Like I said, he used to tweet about early morning workouts and late night gym sessions. Now he retweets barely legible tweets from Memphis and Arky fans and he's not even enrolled in a HS.

He's 6-7. Period. And having watched both extensively in AAU, the comparison with Tobias is laughable. Tobias is a perimeter player. Stokes isn't.

He's about 6'8" right now. He is enrolled at Southwind. He has always been respectful. Far from big headed. Retweeting is what people do on twitter. Adults dogging KIDS for being KIDS. Charles Barkley(6'4")..Karl Malone(6'8")..Larry Johnson(6'6")..Charles Oakley(6'9")..Stokes has a great work ethnics and is very coachable. I will support him if he choose Ark., UT, or Memphis

Stokes is a post player who has improved his shooting range to about 15-17 feet. He has also improved his ballhandling, he can put the ball on the floor and go around guys now.

I agree. I've seen no evidence of Stokes acting immaturely. If anything, he one of the more mature recruits I've seen; very comparable to Tobias IMO, but more articulate.

He's a great kid Chris4Vols22...very articulate & very respectful. I hope he's ruled eligible to play this year, I would hate to miss out on refn his games during his senior year.

Tobias wouldnt be able to guard Stokes on the block...but Stokes wouldnt be able to guard Tobias on the perimeter...so whose better? I dont see how you can conclude one is better than the other. Stokes may grow some more..size 20+ shoes!

Do you still have that Peach Jam final on DVR?
I watched that game! How many times have you seen this young man play in-person. have you stood beside him? His team made every Finals this summer! He had a great summer..he rose in rankings! you speak as if you have seen him play many times..

For any doubting that: a) Stokes wasn't UT's to lose before Pearl left; or b) Stokes doesn't play the type of game that Tobias did:

"I wasn't going to commit early, but I knew that's where I wanted to go," Stokes said of his love affair with Bruce Pearl's Vols. "I used to love the way he played, I watched every one of his games. I wanted to be a more physical Tobias Harris."

From the most recent ESPN article on Stokes.

Wanting to play like Tobias Harris and being capable are two different things. If he has a future in the NBA -- a huge if -- it will be as a Paul Millsap type undersized 4 man and nothing else.

You're welcome to your opinion, partner. Apparently no amount of reasonable talk backed up with links and quotes will change your mind.

Stokes is 6'7", will never play in the NBA and his game doesn't even resemble Harris', who is a perimeter player.

I agree with the above poster. You are certainly entitled to your opinion. It is the in minority but that does not always equate to being incorrect. I believe he has the physical ability, smarts, and work ethic to play in the NBA. I dont have much doubt about that.

P.S. I am sorry that Jarnell stole your girlfried but I promise there are more fish in the sea. Dont give up.

From Stokes' FB- (just now)
"Catfish hole down here in Arkansas was on another level! The food's good and the fan support was better!"

“I loved it so much, just a great, great visit that I don’t think could have been any better,” Stokes said Tuesday night. “It was just as I expected – a family atmosphere that the coaches create and the players are a bunch of great guys. It’s a tremendous college town and the fans are just incredible.”

“The Catfish Hole was great, just great,” Stokes said. “I also just really liked hanging out and going out with the Arkansas players. They are great guys. They know how to have a lot of fun, but not the kind that will get you in trouble. The Arkansas players are a bunch of cool guys with great character.”

“Arkansas is coming over here this weekend and I am already looking forward to seeing the coaches again,” Stokes said. “Coach Anderson and (Razorback assistant) Coach T.J. Cleveland are just great guys. I have a great relationship with those guys and they have been recruiting me forever.”

The other schools are really going to try hard if they want to beat this Arkansas visit. It was just a phenomenal visit.”

Some quotes from Stokes.
