Jay Graham should have been the highest paid non coordinator on that offensive staff,

Tell me who has more SEC experience on the offensive side of the ball than Jay Graham?

That is what I thought.

Jones totally disrespected Jay when he paid Zach Azzanni more than him.

Jay Graham obviously got what he deserves, so we should all be glad for him. UT has done it's part as well, by supporting Jay Graham on 2 different occassions in the young man's life, and so have we as fans. I'm not sure what more a young man coming out of high school could ask for from a university, or a fan base. We gave him an education to play here, we gave him the tools and a great platform to gain notoriety, not once, but twice, and cuddos to him for making the most of it. In the end we valued him enough to offer him $300,000 to remain affiliated with us, so I don't think this is anything for we as fans, or the University of Tennessee to be ashamed of.

Hey simpleton, someone tried to say the reason he was the least paid was based on experience only, if that is the case then we should have kept the old DL coach as he was about 70. Love how people ignore the foundation of an argument and jump in when they don;t have a clue about what they are talkng about.

Who are you calling a simpleton?:eek:lol: This based on a two sentence comment on a message board? You might be out of your element here. I'd meet you at gate 21, but I'm too busy eating pieces of crap like you for breakfast, tough guy.

Feel better? Even if you made valid points (debatable), your raving like a madman anytime someone says something you don't like makes you look either 12 years old or 70 years old. Not sure which.

I've seen multiple people state that he should be paid more than X member of staff but I haven't seen a real answer as to why...other than that he played for UT and we like him.

no way........all the RBs he brought in? and Pittman was the reason our running game improved, besides the talent being better....good luck Jay, have fun with the DH that couldn't coach the D, and Sanders, who sucked as an OC

Someone should create a chart of all the assistant coaches in the SEC, how long they've been in coaching, and how many teams they have been a part of. How many are gonna have some line like 7 teams in 12 years? These guys switch jobs like a college kid changes majors. How many lateral moves has a guy like Trooper made? When are we going to stop being surprised when these guys move around like their pants are on fire? It happens to every team, every year. If this guy hadn't played at UT, no one would even still be talking about it.

So how come nobody made any threads last year when he was hired saying he was under paid? He was asked to stay and given a pretty good raise from what he made last year, he accepted, if he felt underpaid he should have spoken up or left then. He got a better offer, UT offered to match it, he said no, his choice. it is as simple as that,.

Every school loses coaches. Heck, all mighty alabubba lost a couple. From a NC team no less.

it is that simple. None of those coaches are better than him or have a better reputation in the south than him. Real hard for me to believe no other coaches approached Jay about jobs before FSU, but he stayed out of loyalty to the university during the transition.

For some reason when I read this I see you stomping your foot and clinching your fist as if you really mean it.

Oh you really do?

Most wr and rb voaches are on a staff for one reason and one reason only.....to recruit.

Dont know if that's the case here.....but, their involvement in game planning and play calling is usually minimal

if that were the right thing to do then obviously FSU would make him their highest paid non cordinator...wait they didnt

Now tell me who that staff signed as whole????? That is what I thought.

Are you writing this check to retain Graham? Are you privy to all that went on internally before Graham left? Is this comment based on the fact Graham has more experience and qualifications than all the others?

If this was about a 'lack of fit' with the new coaching staff, Graham moving on is a good thing. We'll need a committed and cohesive unit to win.

Based on what??? Here are some backs recruited by Graham all signed elsewhere. Derrick Henry, Derrick Green, AJ Turman, Tarean Folston, and JoJo Kemp. I wonder if he was not a former Vol if anyone would care he left?

This. Exactly who has he gotten to come here?

Money wasn't the issue here. We countered and were prepared to match what FSU threw at Graham. He left for the "title" of recruiting coordinator. He did not earn that title here. If he had earned it, he would have the title, simple as that. Give me someone who wants to earn it than someone who wants to be given the title. I don't care if you just grew up watching the Vols on TV or if you won the damn Heisman in our uniform. You're gonna earn it under Butch.

wth? When did that become the deciding factor for job experience?

"Hm... The SEC is the only conference that runs the ball. They're the only conference that has an offensive line that is supposed to open holes for a runner. They're the only conference that has that new-fangled "linebacker" position. Hey, any of you coaches out there ever come up against that strange defensive alignment? The one where they have two guys standing behind the defensive line? We'll pay big!"

I think they jump in when they see that you don't have a clue what you're talking about.

Jay Graham should have been the highest paid coach on the staff! He has more experience as a Vol than the rest of them put together!

So, have we figured out why JG should have been the highest paid coach in UT history yet?
