Jay Graham to FSU (merged)

+1

Jay left because he wanted to do so. That is all there is to it. He just got a raise when CBJ was hired. Best of luck to him. "VFL" may be a term we need to do away with. Being a VFL and a sellout at the same time just does not seem to fit.

one could argue he deserved more money then he got tho

Hire Trooper right now.

That's a good one. Thanks I needed that on this overcast Monday morning. :lolabove:

Hey Graham, turn in your freakin' VFL card on the way out, you unloyal money grubbin' piece of garbage !!!

You're either fer us or agin us !!! Taint no 'twixt or 'tween!!!!

You can't pay a RB coach more than your OC. Don't lost focus because he's gone. We paid him to be a RB's coach.

He was next to last in years of coaching experience. He was next to last in salary. It makes sense to me. ZA has a heck of a resume and I saw no problem with CBJ naming him RC along with his WR coaching duties. Other than being a former VOL, CJG still has alot to prove as a coach IMO.

This is accurate. LV keeps bringing up Graham's raise but keeps leaving out the part that the "raise" made him the second lowest paid coach on the staff. Behind several coaches who have experience coaching and recruiting in the Big East, Big 10, and the MAC.

Is that the title he is getting at FSU?

No titles have been assigned yet. Randy Sanders is the RB coach currently and should slide over to QB coach now, and Jay Graham is assumed to be taking the RB position.

Fisher is still interviewing OC candidates.

No, I have mentioned several times that he was paid a salary fitting his coaching resume. He was being paid to coach RBs and recruit. He is next to last in years of experience. His salary matched that. Makes perfect sense to me anyways.

Have you ever been offered more money for another job?

Who was the RB coach at UC I'm assuming he's the best in the nation. Like their other assistants

Anyone else not give a ****? I think he's a decent recruiter, but he obviously can't recruit running backs and/or coach them.

I'll add that Billy Napier had the Recruiting Coordinator title before he left for Bama, so maybe Graham will get that as well, warranting a bump in pay. Everything is speculation though.

The class was ranked 20. Do a little research and you'll see we've had lower ranked classes.

2008 seems to be the only class that ranked lower than 2013 and I went all the way back to 1994 and could not find older data.

What if it's Trooper Taylor?

Huge risk if it happens. I would hope CBJ would not consider it unless he has direct information from the NCAA that TT is clear of all wrong doing at Auburn. The man has always been known as a shady dude when it comes to recruiting. Yes, even when he was here at UT.

And it's Butch/Hart's fault. He was second lowest paid on our staff and someone else offered him more money. Can't fault the guy.

Wow. ..I can't help but think this had something to do with him being unable to bring in a highly rated rb. May have been the money but obviously not a VFL. This is just saddening and could really hurt our chances with Hurd and other RBs in next year's class. It will take guys with determination and perseverance to get UT back to prominence and obviously Graham did not have it.
