Jay Graham to FSU (merged)

Anyone else not give a ****? I think he's a decent recruiter, but he obviously can't recruit running backs and/or coach them.

He was a solid coach. He was a decent recruiter. I would agree on the fact he did not show much in the recruiting of RBs. Missing on 98% of your targets at a serious position of need should raise alot of red flags. I look forward to seeing who CBJ is able to hire.

Dooley is at fault,I can smell it..

Hey ...let's take Trooper back, he wont have a show cause for a while,we can still afford to overpay him right now

He could be a decent coach but I haven't seen any results lately. Having a better O-line would of helped him look better. But the only reason I'm concerned at all is because he's a former player so it's kind of a slap in the face.

Huge risk if it happens. I would hope CBJ would not consider it unless he has direct information from the NCAA that TT is clear of all wrong doing at Auburn. The man has always been known as a shady dude when it comes to recruiting. Yes, even when he was here at UT.

But never got in trouble here. CTT coached some great RB's and CAN CLOSE THE DEAL RECRUITING. If the NCAA comes up with a finding in a year that forces CTT out of coaching, it wouldn't stick to UT. We would just be faced with another RB coaching search and a great crop of CTT recruits. I will take my chances with the man who would absolutely solidify a monster 2014 class!

I like JG, but said months ago he needed to show something and was lambasted. I know our running game improved, but our OL was badass and we had 1st rounders on the outside. JG didn't recruit even a "B" running back while he was here. If we would have landed some guys that really wanted to play under him, I would be more concerned. And we still have UT flavor in the program with Davis, Fair, etc.

Compare this year's class to ANY class of the past 20 years. Its horrible in comparison. Don't just make dumb@ss comments without providing supporting information.

Any huh? Last year was ranked lower per rivals. 2011 was ranked even lower, 2010 had the same ranking as 2011. 2009 was lower than this years class. Is that enough or would you like more? You didn't even give your supporting information either. Like how that worked.

I hate losing CJG but I don't understand him leaving for a lateral coaching position when he already was a RB coach at his alma mater. CBJ gave him a raise when he came on board when he cold have let him go with the rest of the staff.

Did CBJ set up CJG leaving this way to save the recruiting class? I just don't see the lateral move unless there was an issue.

And how big of a disaster would it be for us to hire TT now and 6 weeks before NSD 2014 the NCAA drops the bomb on us and Taylor is forced out of coaching? How would that prized 2014 class finish up then?

HUGE RISK IMO.

the vol for life crap. he wasn't for jay, it wasn't for tee...it's just another stupid idea from dooley. maybe fans will quit running around screaming vol for life vol for life like it actually means something. fairy tale..it's all about winning. win you stay. lose you go. it's all most as annoying as "he's a beast". we have 10 beasts on defense last year and we couldn't tackle our shadow.

VFL is a Dooley legacy. It should be struck-off, IMHO.

Funny how VFL was just a given in times not too long past.

Wow. ..I can't help but think this had something to do with him being unable to bring in a highly rated rb. May have been the money but obviously not a VFL. This is just saddening and could really hurt our chances with Hurd and other RBs in next year's class. It will take guys with determination and perseverance to get UT back to prominence and obviously Graham did not have it.

Article said he was the lead recruiter for Marcus Lattimore and was on some notable 4* gets. A lateral move at this time sure seems odd.

Money talks

Might be the money, only CJG can say for sure.

However, a fair amount of research has been done on what are the most important factors in employee retention. In first place is ... Liking the supervisor that you work for.

Money is about 3rd or 4th on the list, iirc.

Neal would be very close to being a 1000 yard rusher if it weren't for injuries this year. Who thought that would ever happen? If anything, we thought it would've been Lane. He also coached up Devrin Young into a serviceable scat back at his diminutive size... Dude can coach. Don't forget about Lattimore, either.

When are the sheeples going to realize Hart and Cheek need to go? This program will continue to be a joke until we get serious about football and that won't happen until those two clowns are gone.

This is exactly what the problem is. I've given up hope on thinking VN will come around.

Per rivals 2012 we ranked 17th 2011 we ranked 13th and 2010 we ranked 9th.

No, I have mentioned several times that he was paid a salary fitting his coaching resume. He was being paid to coach RBs and recruit. He is next to last in years of experience. His salary matched that. Makes perfect sense to me anyways.

So according to your theory Butch Jones should make more money than Kevin Sumlin? After all, he's coached longer. Or maybe a guy like Randy Edsall should make more than a Will Muschamp or Kevin Sumlin. I mean he's coached longer. You don't go straight down the line and pay according to years in the game. Ones worth to the organization has to come into play.

I'm not trying to knock him at all as I think he did a good job with Neal in particular, but I could have coached Lattimore.
