Jaylen McCollough arrested

You'all are correct in pointing out that both sides of the story have not been heard.
It could well be that the victim here shares much more blame for what happened than he told the officers.
But, short of this guy pulling a weapon (knife, gun, lead pipe), McCollough is dumb and selfish for what he did.
Again, other than a weapon being involved, McCollough should have at the front of his mind to avoid anything that could land him in trouble.
He should have walked away and closed the door - call Police if the guy returns.
Problem being that some of these individuals abide by this idiotic culture that says you must never be disrespected in any way, lest you initiate violence.
Remember these words next time you lose your temper... or better if you ever have someone follow you and give you reason to think they might harm you or someone with you.

In hindsight, yeah, he should have just let the guy go. But that assumes we KNOW a lot that we do not KNOW. I'm not saying he's innocent. I'm not assigning blame to either party. There is a reasonably likely scenario where my opinion would be that he should spend some time in big boy jail. But NONE of that matters until all of the facts are known and considered by the appropriate people.

Garza on Basilio right now breaking it down. Warrant is written around the loser of the fights account of the story. JM refused to answer questions which he has probably been taught to not answer without lawyer. So we only got the loser of the fights account of what happend. This could get interesting! I hope he gets to play Saturday!

It's what anyone charged with a felony should do. Let your lawyer do the talking. If there's a PR angle to it, let the lawyers deal with the communication folks and have a third party speak on your behalf. Don't go and give the prosecutor ammo.

So I can just walk up in your house drunk and talk some BS right? At any point are you allowed to be in fear for your life or property? Again we do not know what happened. If I’m in college and some random dude let’s himself in my place I’m assumed at best he’s a thief.

You don't assume. You assess the situation. You use your judgment. If someone comes in wearing a black balaclava and carrying a knife, you worry and presume the worst. If you see it's a football fan who's had too much to drink following a big win, you say, "Oh, it's a guy who's had too much to drink and come in the wrong apartment," and then you tell him as much and escort him out and there are no problems. It's not hard.

Tank's lawyer released a statement yesterday afternoon saying he was cooperating with KPD and UT in the investigation and expects a speedy resolution and maintains his complete innocence.
Chloe Akers is the attorney who most recently worked in Don Bosch's office.
If I'm correct, she recently became Tennessee's interpreter of law regarding abortion. I know that has nothing to do with this situation...the point being she's very well respected.

Again the “it’s not hard” part just makes you seem like you haven’t a clue. And again you have zero clue what actually happened.

On the processing thing… I once got hauled in by the police on an outstanding warrant that I didn’t even know existed for expired tags (My court date happened to be in the middle of a one of those blizzards that come blasting into East Tennessee every 10 years or so and called that morning to have it rescheduled. Left a message to which they never responded so when I got pulled over 7 years later I found out I was suddenly a fugitive from justice of something…)

Anyway… I was taken in at around 4 pm but wasn’t booked or processed until at least 10:30 or 11 pm that night. That’s the way it works a lot of the time. They do things on their own time and don’t care about the inconvenience of it all.

That could very well be the missing hours.

From the news reports this looks like an overly aggressive charge against this young man. Without respect to his being a Vols football player, this should have been resolved on the scene by the police and everyone sent home without charges. The courts and jails are already full of serious cases!

It's all a money grab. They've got to make money somehow.
