Jeep Wrangler Unlimited - Any Owners?

Like it? I've been eyeballing some 2016 Citadels and R/T's. Sadly the R/T color/package combination is seeming to be impossible to find. I haven't heard anything bad about the new Durangos.

I loved my 02 Durango SLT. I was the one owner. She now has 248,000 miles. Never had engine or Trans problems. However, now the heater core is done, and it's an 8 hour job for an experienced mech at an estimated cost between $1,200 and $1,500.

Now driving a 4x4 F150. So far, so good.

Becareful of the R/T. The older ones with the hemi had chronic transmission problems and engine over heating issues. I assume they have worked out the bugs.

Thanks.....I will remove one and see if the paint has faded, that might cause me to "have" to leave them on....

I took the chrome rings around the headlights of my 97 off and replaced them with black ones. I will have to see if I have a picture

Just found this thread but I've always wanted one. I have started looking at them here recently. It would be our third vehicle so I wouldn't have to drive it every day. Looking into a late 90s model that can be a project and give me something to work on.

Finally got around to doing my diff and transfer case fluids this weekend. Took probably 1.5 hours in total. Super easy, certainly worth saving 600 dollars!

Good work!

That's typically a pretty approachable job. Thankfully those bolts rarely seize since they touch oil.

Also you lucky jerks where you don't need jacks or a stand to get under the vehicle!

Recently added a 2.5" lift, wheel spacers, and 34.5" tires (315/70), the biggest Discount Tire would install on my Willys rims. Bumper and winch next weekend...

Question: anyone do their own maintenance? The dealer tried to rape me today: quoted $750 for air filter and flushing/changing the differential and transfer case fluid! I ordered a K&N filter and some Royal Purple 75w90 and Mopar ATF4 off Amazon to do my own ($150). Looks pretty straightforward on YouTube.

Any concern with the Willy's axels and tires that big? I've heard it's a concern.

I'm trying to decide which model I want to purchase.
