Jeep Wrangler Unlimited - Any Owners?

Nice - it may seem odd but the little "4 wheel drive" emblem on the back is my favorite part of that package.

Thanks, brother, we had a blast. My 7 year old said it was the most awesome thing he's ever done! Got a little dicey at times with all the rain we've had, but the Jeep was very impressive. It took a touchless car wash and then quite some time with the hose to get her road-ready for tomorrow morning, but it was totally worth it.

I'll miss the BMW on the Dragon, but that was damn fun and a great (and safer) substitute for the adrenaline surge.

Happy New Year to you!

that's really nice

Thanks. I have been looking for one forever, but just wouldn't/couldn't pull the trigger because of the sticker.... Found this one (used) with a little over 20k miles and worked the salesman until we were both happy. After all the research I think I did ok.

My only other question is that the dash area is very dark at night and was wondering if any other Jeep owners felt the same way and if so have they installed any lights inside. Especially over the rearview mirror.

The resale value on wranglers is crazy high though.

There should be a dial over by the lights that adjust the interior lights

Yep. I found that, it just seems as though there should be more around the dash. Hell, there isnt a light in the glove box.

And one of the cheapest vehicles to insure as I've learned. Its really a cant lose proposition. If I dont like it, I sell it and I dont take a big hit.

Yep. It's probably the only Chrysler product that doesn't depreciate like a rock.

Surprised about the insurance though. I suppose parts are really cheap? The Miata is silly cheap to insure. Less than $20 a month for full coverage.

Basically you dent the door, you get a new door, etc. The Jeep was less than a dollar more a month than the 2wd truck I traded and it is 6 years newer. I was expecting the worst.

I saw that too but I assumed that was about buying it as your primary vehicle. If you are buying it BECAUSE it's a Jeep it's a great deal. I was astounded at the price of used Jeeps and given the deal I got on a new one I'm betting I can get back just about everything I spent on it.

Love the Safari tops Nerd.

Other than being a chick car, the Miata may be the best bang for the buck in the car world :)

You like the new ones?

The one currently on sale?

Yeah, I like the club spec. Especially with the power hardtop. I'm reserving judgement on the new one till I drive one. I like how small it is and how light it is.

I meant the new one - have just seen a picture.

As I've become a torque junky I'd love to see some low-end grunt in that little bastage.

Fingers crossed that we get a tuned version of 2L skyactiv engine. That could push power and torque up to 170hp/tq. That's just speculation on my part though.
