There isn't a bigger hunk of crap on the road than the Jeep anything, have owned two wranglers and both had horrendous transmissions, crappy gas mileage, cheap interiors, and absolutely no power. If you enjoy wasting money and paying a high price for a piece of crap then by all means proceed.
I guess if you have to forge a river and pull a steep embankment to get to your house then possibly it would be worth driving down the driveway. If you traded in a truck that was in decent shape and running, then you just got taken for a ride.

I could think a few bigger hunks of crap on the road than a Jeep but I think that's a personal opinion. And I really don't think anyone purchases a Jeep expecting to get great gas mileage. The interiors are made so they can be cleaned out easily. As far as no power goes... you either had a four cylinder or a lifted Jeep with stock gears which will make the Jeep seem like it has no power. 4.0 liter motor are pretty much bullet proof as long as you take care of them.
Jeeps aren't for everyone.
