Basilio discussing this on his post game show now. They are aware something happened and there is an issue with Banks not making the trip. Also saying Hooker didn’t look like himself tonight and was way off and of course the defense looked like they didn’t want to be there. Piecing together something is wrong within the team. Hope this passes quickly and the team gets back in sync.

Spot on. I have been more vocal than most in that I didn't think he deserved to be brought back after his cop comment but with that said I truly hope these are just rumors. For the most part he looked like he had kept himself clean. Hopeful here for this kids sake. He is at a time of his life where the wrong influence in his life could have lifelong ramifications. Fingers crossed for 33.

I hope you are right. On one side, maybe it’s the emotions of the game that was just played that may be taking over when Heupel is talking, but the way he phrases the answer to Banks status coupled with the comment about those that didn’t make the trip leads me to infer that there’s certainly a situation with Banks that is beyond just an injury or a minor infraction.

But just like you said, we are just spectating this and trying to explain away a lot of really odd behavior and a terrible football performance tonight.

If Basilio is reporting it, I feel pretty good that it’s somewhere between not true and severely overhyped.

Basilio is whatever, but I definitely think there’s a locker room issue. This is not the same team that beat Alabama and LSU.

This feels like the Butch Jones claiming Shy Tuttle fell on his helmet comment after Supposedly Darrel Taylor punched his lights out jacking up his eye socket. I believe there is fire to this smoke. No way Heupel makes the comment this should hurt those that didn't make the trip if they are truly injured. Clearly he was letting Banks know whatever he did this was partly on him.

I can see the NIL jealousy being an issue. CJ Stroud I am not a fan of but its been well documented him and Bryce Young have used their NIL to do things for teammates. I mean we all know Hooker has been on multiple commercials and the deal with the AMG Mercedes and the French's Mustard has to make his teammates feel a certain way.

No Basilio fan here at all, but something was very amiss with the team tonight from top to bottom. More than just a bad day at the office kind of scenario.

Heupel presser didn’t help matters either, but there’s really no faulting him there.

Guess we will (hopefully) find out in a few days. Just really seems like there’s something else going on with the team as a whole. The defense was beyond terrible and between Hadden running his mouth all night like he was some UFC championship title holder while getting burnt on every play, to the entire unit just looking disinterested and disconnected - somethings up.

Blows my mind that there could be any locker room issues with the season we have had. Only at Tennessee

True. But this performance tonight was so unexpected and out of character. This didn’t even look like the same team in any capacity as we saw up until, well, a week or so ago.

If we had gone out and lost by a score or two, you figure that’s the breaks and you identify the area or two that you need to focus on. Tonight, it was a total massacre and it wasn’t just one or two areas to improve upon, it was practically everything. The teams demeanor and their attitude was off from the opening kick and it followed the entire game.

i went back and watched the presser again and came away with the same interpretation I had before. There was a reference to the guys who did not make this trip (I took it to mean all the guys not on the travel squad), but he was including them in the general statement that he wanted this one to hurt for everyone in the program, including them and the guys who did make the trip.

Either way, Heupel has his job cut out for him this week. He could easily lose this team now. It'll be a hell of a job to get them focused on the next game.
