18 level 1 infractions, there is no way he escapes getting a show cause penalty. Min 30 months to max of 5 years.

Pruitt won't be part of any Make Alabama Great Again plan.

Pruitt proved himself to be not only a terrible head coach but also a terrible person. Didn’t think we could do worse than Butch Jones and Dooley, but our inept Athletic Department at the time proved me wrong. Pruitt belongs at Alabama.

I still hate Georgia more though. Just can’t help it.
Dooley was atleast a likeable guy, his offense was pretty good with the talent we had but that defense , was told they were going to hire Steele after Wilcox left but Steeles defense got boat raced in their bowl game, so some how or another we got old Sal

I'd think Pruitt would be unhireable for the foreseeable future after the crap he pulled here at Tennessee.

However, Saban has proven that he doesn't give a crap about doing the right thing, so it wouldn't surprise me if he hired him anyways.

Does this surprise anyone? They played Fulmer like a smooth violin. The plan was to bury the UT program as far under earth as you could and get paid millions to do it. The initial plan was to do this without getting fired for cause, rather get fired for poor performance to receive the buyout of millions upon millions of dollars. Then, once that happened, Saban would bring him back to Bamer for his reward.

Conspiracy theory? No. They will and have tried literally everything and anything to win, or get a winning edge. Simple google search will reveal their long storied history of cheating and MUCH worse.....

big phil finally came to the relization that the only way to beat bama and ga. was to pay players like they do.who better to hire than a dirty bama coach who had dirt on his previous bosses to keep thier mouths shut.the recruiting was going well unfortunatly cornbread was just a piss poor coach.

Fulmer should have done the basic research on the win/loss record of former Sabin assistants vs Sabin. Not very pretty. I was most disappointed at how our defense played under Pruitt considering he was a former defense coordinator. Tn looked poorly prepared to play under Pruitt. I can't see his value to Bama or any school after that debacle

He had an absolute horrible reputation before coming to UT, so yeah, why now. Why not get fifthly rich being the ass you already are?

Lol. What horrible reputation was that?

He was a terrible hire. We know that. It wasn't some gigantic conspiracy with Saban to take our program down. He was turned in by MEMBERS OF THE ADMINIATRATION! Did Saban plan for that too?

It was well known that he left FSU because he got caught banging a co Ed IN THE AD BUILDING. Plus got drunk and cussed Richt out. Not saying that automatically meant he would be a bad coach but he had some well documented impulse issues.

No conspiracy,
Fulmer was just a putz. He hated Alabama and thought he would cripple Nick by hiring away the DC.
Terrible decision on his part.

Than allowed him to finish out the Championship game. That is our enemy. That was like giving support and quarter to an enemy that wants to kill you.
Never liked that from the gitgo. Should've known right then we were scarood!

Well known? Just like Harsin and his coed? These are just internet rumors. Maybe they happened, but you can't use rumors as proof. He got a substantial raise when he went to UGA, so maybe he just went where the money was? I don't anything about the Richt story, though I imagine it is internet rumors as well. Saban didn't seem to mind his reputation when he hired him.

Most of us weren't very happy with the Pruitt hire from the start. That's mostly because we wanted a HC and not a coordinator. As someone said, Fulmer thought he was getting someone he could control and he thought he could hurt Saban in the process. He chose wrong. Though I imagine just about any coach he would have chosen wouldn't have worked out.

Well my co worker was an intern for War Chant and in the AD building 2 days a week and a student at FSU so I’m good with the events as they are told. As far as the story of him getting drunk and cursing Richt, that’s been corroborated by about 8 different sources including the fact that Thomas Brown punched Pruitt in the face. A current member of our staff joked at one of the Knox press events that he was rumored to be the puncher but that it was Brown.

The show cause usually impacts any level of coaching in the collegiate level. However, nothing with the NC2A surprises me so they could issue a head coaching show cause.
Could be a show cause with special waiver for Alabama, since Saban has been so successful at "rehabilitating" wayward coaches.

I'm betting this is fake news.

A show cause won't just keep him from being a head coach. It will likely keep him from being any kind of coach at the college level. And my guess is, it will be for something like 5 or 7 years, if not even longer.

Bama's not going to hire a fella that they may have to turn right around and let go 3 or 6 months later.

It's just not going to happen, I don't think.
So what you are saying is Saban is retiring after the bowl games? SHWEEEET!

It was hearsay, but there was an awful lot of it, remember Aaron Murray saying he just didn’t have the temperament to be a head coach lol.. there were a lot of disgruntled folks from UGA, but we sort of took it as jealousy, when they were actually being honest 😂

I hope everyone realizes that the recruits Pruitt pulled in are driving our success this year. The McDonalds debacle was a set up to put Fulmer back at the helm. The mess that Pruitt stepped into is similar to what Auburn is dealing w now.
