Jerry Jones in Tuscaloosa Thursday. (RUMOR)

I did find this interesting post on that atlanta falcons forum of all places...tifwiw...

"I have been told from a very reliable source that Jerry Jones has been in contact with representatives of Nick Saban about possibly becoming the new Head Coach of the Dallas Cowboys after this season.

Apparently Jones wants him badly enough to pony up around 10 million dollars per year to the tune of 5 years. I don't see how Saban could possibly turn that down. Of course we will not know for sure until after the season, but you can bet your bottom dollar that Saban will jump all over it. Saban has never stayed at a job for more than 5 years and this is year 4 at Bama.

Alabama fans had to know this was coming at some point. "

Please leave Alabama!

If this were true, Saban's final game of the regular season will be played November 26th. Unless he plays in the SEC championship game, he could sign his contract by December 1st. He would then have 5 games remaining to start implementing his new system with the Cowboys. I'm sure Jerry Jones would like to start preparing for next season as soon as possible. Get some of the kinks worked out this year.

Take the job Satan!

I've always thought that if Saban doesn't go NFL and if Joe Pa calls it quits this year or next, Penn St. will come hard after Saban..they got the money and want to be relevant again quick..

It makes perfect sense from Jerry's POV.

I don't know if Saban wants to do it though. He'd be turning down ridiculous amounts of money though if he stays at Bama.

And being the HFC at one of the world's premier sports teams that is laden with talent. If that $10mil/year is close to correct I don't see how in the world Saban stays.

I hate the Cowboys but I'm not above admitting they're the "A-List team" in the NFL. Huge market, huge revenue, enormous talent level and an owner that isn't afraid to spend major cash.

Like I said... if Saban had an inkling of desire to return to the NFL he surely will realize now presents a veritable opportunity of a lifetime.

If he had any confidence in him at all, he would've made that move already. I think Jerry's fallen out of love with Jason Garrett.

It's probably the most high profile job in all of sports.

I think Jerry's fallout out of everything with everybody on that coaching staff. I'd be surprised if their current waterboy is even still employed.

Agreed. Don't see Dallas with any option other than starting from scratch.

I'd say possibly Manchester United just simply due to the fact that they're the premier team in the world's largest sport.

Cowboys are definitely Top 5, if not #2.

The only legit argument one could make is manager of the New York Yankees.

Yankees skipper is a big one, but Americans just don't watch baseball anymore.

The Cowboys are the most talked about team in the most popular sports league in America. I just don't see how Saban could pass that up if Jerry made him an offer.

I won't believe Saban's leaving Alabama until I hear him say that he's not leaving Alabama.

Until he denies it, it's just a rumor...

Even if he denies it, it's not for sure that he is even telling the truth. We all know what happened in Miami....:birgits_giggle:
