Jerry Jones in Tuscaloosa Thursday. (RUMOR)

Ah, I can see it now:

Saban leaves for Dallas
Auburn gets hammered by the NCAA
Spurrier retires after failing to win the East
Meyer finally resigns
Richt stays
And everything gets a little easier for us. =]

or maybe Meyer goes to Dallas, and trades for Tebow

I dont see anything changing.
But a perfect storm would be Saban to Dallas, Meyer getting nailed for releasing that cam newton stuff, Richt contining the fulmer trend.
All this would speed up the rebuilding job, as well as Miles going CU.

Don't have one. Didn't get this from a writer/blogger. Straight from a buddy. Although, I'm sure there's rumbling on some Bama boards. Feel free to look for your own verification. Or just call BS. I don't really care. But he was there.

Well said, dude... :lolabove:

I could see Harbaugh before Saban. Saban has a gold mine in bama. He could milk them for as much cash as he would get from Dallas if he so chooses. And he has established that he is very good at coaching college football, not so much in the NFL. Maybe he wants to give the pros another shot, maybe he knows he has a bird in the hand.

There is no way in Heaven or Hell that the University of Alabama could match or outbid Jerry Jones for Saban's services.

Marvin Lewis, John Fox? they are joking right?

Give Marvin Lewis a good situation and he can be successful IMO. He is stuck in a terrible organization in Cincy. I mean Marvin took them to two AFC North titles and playoff game appearances in 2005 and 2009. You have to go back to 1990 before that last went to a playoff game. He has only had two losing seasons, three .500 seasons, and two winning seasons with division championships. That's pretty successful for the Bengals.

dude, no offense, but they have SB talent and they are 2-6. They have been very disappointing

Do you have no faith in your coach without the perfect storm happening as you describe above? If you feel that ut needs these things to come about in order to get back on a level with the big boys of the sec, you have sunk really low.

Wow, that was dumb. We don't need anything. However, it would be nice to not have the best coach in College Football coaching our rival.

When you ******* hit bottom , you got lower. It's so easy to blame others when Bama was down wasn't it? Even now , you are hoping that other teams stay down (at any cost) so you can stay near the top. Your fanbase has a hardon for what is going on across the state. It proves that Alabama needs the other teams to fail on and off the field , if it be the ncaa or coaching changes ect. , in order to succeed. Your fanbase has prayed for days like this. Even with a Title last year and a very good run , you all remain hypocrites. Good luck when the Gnome leaves T-town.

But don't fret now little man. I'm sure some joke of a newspaper will STILL name Alabama the 2010 Elmer's Buttputty National Champion.

What fan base, hard times or not, wouldn't want a great coach like Saban to leave college football? Not too mention all the other things the OP touched on.

This is where I am. Step back and look at this objectively. Saban isn't going anywhere. People need to let this go.

Why so confident?

Saban has never coached more than five years at any school.

He won a NC at LSU, didnt repeat the next year, and the year after that he was coaching at Miami

Hes in his fourth year at Alabama, won a NC last year, and wont repeat this year.

He'll stay at Bama if college is where he wants to be. Makes no sense to make a lateral move in college. Someone like Jerry Jones comes calling and it's the right fit he's gone.

So? There are better names that JJ could be going after that are proven NFL head coaches.

I agree.

If there's one owner who has shown himself to be the model of fiduciary restraint, its JJ. And if there's one coach who has consistently placed institutional loyalty above his own personal financial gain, its Saban.

And neither ever been known to enjoy the limelight. Veritable hermits, these two.

Besides, who in their right mind would prefer to live in Dallas, when you've got Tuscaloosa and its many Wal-Marts and such easy access to all manners of fried meats being sold along every major roadway in and around the city?

No, you can categorically dismiss any possibility of Saban coaching the Cowboys as pure lunacy.

If there is one team with the necessary prestige and an owner who can shame Pac-Man in his ability to "make it rain" - its JJ and the Cowboys. Were I a Bammer, I'd be worried. As I am not, I'll simply point and laugh.

So?

Cavs went after Tom Izzo while trying to keep Lebron.

Jerry Jones went to the Texas-Alabama game and cheered for Alabama. Greg McElroy's dad is the senior vice president of sales and marketing for the Cowboys.

I'm pretty sure Jerry Jones also has family in Alabama.

Wouldn't be surprised if JJ went after Saban.
