I wouldn't qualify this as sucking. His winning percentage was above .500 . There are NFL coaches right now with much worse records.

ATL 2004 11-5 1st in NFC South 1 Lost to Philadelphia Eagles in NFC Championship Game.

ATL 2005 8-8 3rd in NFC South

ATL 2006 7-9 3rd in NFC South

I don't post much, but I have been a member for awhile and read everyday. Mora Jr. has made it to 2nd on my list behind the obvious Chucky. If the complaint is he doesn't like losing and acts like a jerk when he does, that's fine with me. He has a low salary, a semi-decent NFL record, and has been pretty good so far with UCLA. This sounds like a good, solid hire. Plus he already beat USC and that scumbag so, I don't see many con's compared to the pro's of this hire at UT.

There is now way to truly compare records between the NFL and college football. College coaches can recruit to create a huge advantage. NFL coaches have to fight a salary cap and hope that the GM is building a base of talent that you want.

The X's and O's in the NFL game is far superior the X's and O's in the college game.

If a guy from the NFL can recruit and relate to players, he will win at the college level. It is not the same way for a college coach wanting to go to the NFL.

No way, hes a west coast guy, the WCO would never flourish in the SEC, the defenses are too fast and the zones are covered too well for Mora to flourish here.

Uga and alabama both run power forms of the west coast. And david cutcliffe did as well

UT already runs elements of the WCO.

Mora would be dumb to leave UCLA and especially with Kiffin stumbling and bumbling at USC. But the WCO would do just fine in the SEC with the right players. Neal and Lane are almost ideal RB's for that system.

Elements are not the same as a full blown WCO, UT runs a Pro Style O which is mostly based in shotgun and I form packages, the WCO is eefective if youre playing fast secondarys that dont move their zones quickly, Bammer and UGA move zones quickly......Bammer can run the WCO because they have what we dont...stud recruits with the speed and strength to exploit the SEC zone defenses. Tennessee isnt at Bammers level right now, as much as I hate saying anything nice about Bammer or Florida or even UGA, they are all at least 2 levels above us in speed, strength and play recognition. If we get a bunch of fast, strong stud O-linemen, and fast possession recievers we could run a power WCO, Moras current system wouldnt translate well with the players we have, besides the offense again wasnt the problem with this team, between the defense, Dooleys terrible play calls and gameplanning, and a punter that cant boot a ball more than 25 feet theres plenty of other places to point a finger than in changing offensive packages or hiring a coach that would radically do so.

A fan of both Tennessee and Ohio State can only dream lol. He's gained a lot of traction because he said it would be a great job in an interview he gave to a Nashville reporter on Saturday.

Some online sources are reporting that Tennessee has offered the job to Jim Tressel and he has accepted. We'll know really soon if this is just another rumor or if its true. But if this is true then Tennessee is serious about becoming one of the elite in football again. Hopefully he doesn't land them on probation.

I guess this means that Butch Jones is back on the list for UK if they haven't offered the job to Mike MacIntyre.

What did he say? Its very possible he would leave there and come here. He has through back channels supposedly contacted and expressed interest. Could be just to get a raise but UT could easily pay him more and UT is a better job. But curious as to what skeeter said.
