2-1 against Florida, Clemson is normally a ranked team, beat a Kelly coached Notre Dame team last year. If you want to make this argument Saban lost to ULMonroe. You want the perfect coach, show him to me. You want a coach who consistently wins 9-10 games over the last 3 seasons and competes for a BCS conference championship, not to mention recruits consistantly in the top 25, Fisher is a good hire.
I would pick Stoops over Fisher, for the record, but I just don't see him leaving OU. Strong is my third choice, but I'm not sold on a Looey coach succeeding in the SEC.
OK. I have been following this board for a while, and I really enjoy what people have to say. I have been hooked to this site during this coaching search. Very entertaining. I finally decided to post because I just don't see why people don't like Jimbo. Could someone explain in a nice welcoming way? :hi:

a 6 loss UF team that we couldn't beat.. not my first choice either but lesser of the other evils especially Strong

Yes, he would be an improvement over Dooley. If "improvement over Dooley" is your standard, we could hire literally any one of 90% of the DI coaches right now.
I think Strong is clearly the best candidate on our radar once we get past the home run guys.
Didn't he spank South Carolina a year or two ago?
Strongs best wins are over Cincy (Dooley beat) Rutgers, Uconn and all the other weak schools looking for a new conference?
No way. I'd take a host of coaches before strong:
Tressel, Davis, Fisher, Patterson, Peterson, and more. 24 - 15 over 3 years in Big Easy East.

He did. IIRC, Lattimore missed the game with injury.
I do remember that I picked FSU in that game because it was South Carolina's second straight trip to the Georgia Dome after getting dismantled by Auburn, and I didn't figure their heads would be in it. They weren't.
What does that have to do with who we should hire? Hell we fired Dooley because he under achieved. And now some want us to hire another guy who under achieves just not as bad as Dooley. Makes zero sense.
