Jimbo Fisher

He also has lost to NC State 2 out of 3 years.

The loss this year was inexcusable and due to the inconsistent play of Manuel, a theme in both of their losses. But that first loss to them was his first year vs. a ranked NC St. team. At the end of the day, who cares? His style of play, the talent he brings in, etc... all translate to the SEC. Every coach in the SEC by all of your standard with the exception of Saban and Spurrier would've been awful hires because they "underachieved."

he couldn't get his team to finish the game and lost in a very similar way/score to Dooley. They also found a way to lose to NC St and I think we all saw how good they were this year

sorry but taking elite talent and losing to ACC teams doesn't give me the warm fuzzies

I agree. I equate Jimbo to a camry. He will get us 8 wins but I don't know how many more than that he can muster in the SEC. I do not think he'll have the same success recruiting here either.

One thing to consider with the offensive coaches is that their expertise is on the side of the ball with the least issues. That means in addition to landing them we have to be really concerned they make a grand slam DC hire too. In the case of Fisher he was losing his DC anyways so there is no chance of a package deal. He's a Sabanite so you have to wonder who his DC choices would be.

What quality coach in the SEC loses at least 1 and usually 2 games each year to far and away inferior teams? I'll hang up and listen.

Same BS from Beef. Let me take a crack at the people you prefer:

Butch Jones - Lost to Dooley. Enough Said.
Strong - 24 - 15 in a weak Big East. Lost to Syracuse and Uconn. Enough Said
Petersen - Dan Hawkins 2.0 once he leaves the blue field
Patterson - Only guy on your list that is decent.

I'll take Fisher with Chavis and Narduzzi as DC all day long.

Mark Richt, though this year is debatable.

Miles- look at his track record in the Big 12 to losing to teams he should've. I think he made it ok here even by "underachieving"

Richt typically does

Muschamp's first year and then he almost lost to ULL at home.

Spurrier at USCe has lost a game he wasn't supposed to almost every year he has been there.

I could be mistaken, but was'nt the hype around Jimbo what eventually pushed Bowden out at FSU? He would be a big hire for UT and could bring some big time recruits?

Are people saying this is a possibility? If that is the thought process, I'm all aboard that! We always had a solid defense with Chavis...I hate the prevent situation calls but it would be a welcome change to the past few years...

Look man I get it. You love Dumbo but you're just wrong about those coaches. They may lose a game here or there but Dumbo loses at leat 1 and usually 2 games to far inferior teams EVERY year. Not once in a while but every year. That is a FACT that you cannot deny.

Pete Carroll lost at least 1 game he should've won his last 4 years at USC to vastly inferior opponents as well.

Name me the far inferior teams he loses to every year like Dumbo.

Yes, USC resally suck this year. And Boise was terrible...

All but a couple of those teams you named are FAR and away better than NCstate this year and UVA etc the past few years Dumbo has lost to. But nice try.
