I have been reading volnation for years and this is my first post.
Flame away at me for saying this, but does it not seem strange there has yet to be a confirmed meeting with any coach?
I feel that if Fisher is interviewed it is a meeting between two friends to do two things.
1. Make the Vol fan base happy that there is an ongoing search and stall for time.
2. Get Fisher a raise at FSU, while giving Hart the chance to stick it to the people who fired him.
I am not a Grudenite by any means and will back any coach hired, but I think Gruden is still in play regardless of what his agent says.

According to Sports Talk in Chattanooga. Hart is in talk with Jimbo Fisher today.

Actually they are 11-2 thus far this season. I am with you. What is wrong with Fisher? I am leaning towards Strong but why the Fisher hate?

Easier to recruit to Fl state then UT. He loses games he's not suppose to lose, with arguably the most talented team in the ACC.

I would prefer Fisher over Strong, Golden, Jones, Fedora or any of the other names being thrown around on a daily basis. However, I would need to take a look at the new names in the mix, Pelini and Bielema, and compare to Fisher.

The only good coach named Fisher is Jeff, and we're not getting him. Do not want Jimbo.

I've posted it numerous times. I prefer Patterson but there are a lot of coaches that are light years ahead of Dumbo. In no order besides Gary Patterson but Peterson, Shaw, Strong, Davis, Gundy, Petrino etc.

Gundy losses plenty of games he shouldn't, the man has like three 5-6 loss seasons. He's had 1 good year. A few years ago his best team to date at that time, got smoked by Ole Miss and Nutt in the Cotton Bowl. Shiukd never get smoked by Nutt.

Every coach looses games that they are not supposed to. Even Lord Saban. His relationship with high school coaches in Florida could help our recruiting efforts in that hot bed. I don't think he would be a bad hire...I just can't imagine why he would want to leave FSU to begin with.

I don't want fisher, he can't beat Florida, so why would he beat them at ut or any other sec school for that matter.

Yea...I saw your rant on how Dykes, Taggert, Jones were better than Fisher. Tells me all I need to know about your logic skills. :eek:lol:

If spam is all you have then fine. But we can afford steak and a bunch of our idiot fans are falling for the "flashy" package. From the outside there's some flash but once you look close you realize it's far less than a quality steak.

he couldn't get his team to finish the game and lost in a very similar way/score to Dooley. They also found a way to lose to NC St and I think we all saw how good they were this year

sorry but taking elite talent and losing to ACC teams doesn't give me the warm fuzzies

I kinda of agree with you on the "flashy" package outlook, but I base my opinion on recruiting. Fisher is a known quantity in recruiting. Can he match a #2 class at UT...don't know, but the fact that he has done that in the past gives me hope that he can at least get us in the Top 10 (or maybe 5). With the other options, I see no history of outstanding recruiting classes (even taking into account their conferences).

I think that TN needs a strong recruiter (Fulmer was never considered a great field coach, but was an outstanding recruiter for most of his HC career) that can bring the talent back to UT. I know that it's a lot harder now to win on talent alone in the SEC, but it's d*** near impossible to win without the talent. JMO

One thing you can say about Jimbo, he has actually improved FSU instead of making them worse since Bowden retired.

Bowden's last 5 years: 8-5, 7-6, 7-6, 9-4, 7-6

Jimbo's 3 years: 10-4, 9-4, 11-2

Who can realistically say that this record and top 10 recruiting annually is not far and above strong's record. Not even close.
