Jimbo Fisher

Like I said earlier, anyone who thinks Fisher is better than Patterson doesn't know dick about football.

Just for the record I never said Fisher was better then Patterson. I still don't know dick though.

Maybe your right but there's a heck of alot of players in Texas. That said I think anyone that comes to UT is almost guaranteed a top 15-20 class with out budget. I would just prefer Fishers experience in the south over Patterson's. I'm sure Patterson is a quality coach but I've never been impressed with TCU's schedule. There have been several years that they have only played between 0-2 ranked teams. This year they will play 5 ranked teams and likely lose 5 games. What does that mean? Nothing really just an observation.

Under Patterson TCU is 13-6 against ranked teams.

Haha I'm just messin. But my biggest issue with Fisher is all the top 5-10 classes and he can't go unbeaten in a cush conf like the ACC. He always finds a way to lose to bad teams. Like getting beat by NC State this year. He routinely under achieves.

If we get fisher I will be disappointed but not suicidal. Just can't see how they do not dominate the ACC as weak as it is with Fl talent in his backyard. I just can't get sold on him for some reason.

That's only what 1.6 ranked teams a year over a 12 year period. In the SEC your going to see 5-6 per season. Everyone has said the same thing about Boise State for years. If you only have to play 1-2 ranked teams a year it's easier to beat them. May or may not be true.

I didn't realize that good information. Thanks

I took that from US NEWS's annual college reports. I'm no mathamagician but I am figuring that low acceptance rate means higher standards and we all know what that means..There is a reason the Ivy League hasn't officially won an NC since 1935..

I totally agree he wouldn't be my first choice by any means but I would take him over some names being floated. Don't worry about busting my chops. I don't take anything to personal unless someone throws out idiot or something just as derogatory.

stoops has had his share of games he absoultely should have won. A lot of people are throwing his name around as well.

You can make a case for or againat any of the guys being discussed. Someone please tell Hart that the ability to make adjustments in the 2nd half must be added as a requirement in the new coaches contract!!!

This is true any coach would have things that could be used against him including gruden. Fisher would be a huge step up from dooley. Of course thats not really saying alot. I do agree agree the being able to make some adjustments is necessary.

OP makes going undefeated sound so easy. If that was the case, how come only 0-1 teams have done it in the last two years?

If FSU lost to quality teams you would have a point. But every year under Jimbo they lose to at least one $hitty team.

Let's see how Jimbo does today against the Gators. I don't see it happening anyways. IMO, he's not worth much more than what he makes at FSU (and even his salary there is suspect) so why would he leave for a bit more when he pretty much has it made. Easy conference schedule, backyard recruiting, and a less demanding / hostile environment is what he would be giving up.

if we can't get gruden then fisher would be my number 2, an excellent recuiter

Not directed toward you but how do we know he's an excellent recruiter? Is it really that hard to get commitments to FSU? Lance Thompson and Sal Sunseri were supposed to be excellent recruiters and were until they showed up at Tennessee. I'm sure those kids wanted to play for Saban and Bama and those guys benefited from it just as Jimbo benefits as an excellent recruiter by being at Florida St.

I'm way more impressed with Charlie Strong at Louisville than anything Jimbo is doing at FSU. Think about this, how good would Charlie Strong be at FSU and how good would Jimbo be at Louisville?
