JJJ and Julian going through draft process

That's what I thought, too, but that is what is being reported by Mike Wilson.

Odd, with the NCAA defined walk-on rule being this,

"Walk-on: Someone who was not recruited by an NCAA Division I or II school to participate in sports and does not receive a scholarship from the school, but becomes a member of one of the school’s athletics teams."

If there’s a will there’s a way 🤷🏻‍♂️

Had James not used up his (initial) eligibility and stepped away from the team and all team activities he would not have been allowed to return as a walk-on per NCAA rules. - Rob Lewis

So basically they're saying James was no longer a UT athlete, and was allowed to come back because of that? I wonder if this is only possible due to the covid extra year, and can never happen again?

Very nice, glad he isn't transferring. I can definitely say that this has been a very successful offense for Barnes and co.

Yep. I hate he isn’t returning but as long as he doesn’t stab Rick in the back and transfer last minute, that was the only thing I didn’t want to see. Good luck to him in the draft. I hope his stock soars and he doesn’t regret the decision.

Julian Phillips was not listed in the first round mock draft in today's edition of the Knoxville News Sentinel.
